We just need to avoid Rochdale managers... Speaking seriously, you can't guarantee success all you can do is minimise risk. I think appointing a former top player would be taking on too much risk and I expect it would be more expensive as well.
I suggested Paul Hurst before we appointed Jose Morrais. If Shrewsbury fail in the play offs then we should go in for him.
I think Ipswich are interested. Although if Shrewsbury go up then there’s no chance he’s going to be interested in stepping back down a league again.
cos last time I asked SKY for a price on him, then stuck a free £5 on him just to show how easy it's rigged, got him to 8/1 at one point. So I did the same with another bookie this time and there he is......these lists are daft. It'll be someone totally leftfield again
If Hurst gets them promoted through the play offs then there is no way he would come. However, if they don't go up then its a great shout, I was another on here who said when Hecky left we should have gone in for him. Another name mentioned on here is Gary Bowyer who's done a decent job at Blackpool despite all the turmoil there off the pitch.
Never got chance to find out. Had them in the playoffs, playing some really cracking football and they sacked him after a short run of defeats. That worked out well for them.
https://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/...l-boss-bats-away-future-speculation-1-9152625 Bowyer could happen. Lots of speculation about his future and his rolling contract wouldn't cost much to pay off.....
