Will be received by Sunderland next season in Premier League parachute payments. Then another £14million in 2019/20. They haven’t got a penny of debt after Ellis wrote it all off. If they average only 22000 gates - it will be a lot more, especially if they get on a run, for every pound they charge for a ticket they’ll make half a million over the season. Even with concessions and season tickets you’d think the average ticket price will be say £15 - there’s another £7.5million. Shirt sales and other merchandise will get them another million or two. Matchday food drinks and other stuff, another couple of million over the season with the crowd numbers. £1.5 million in league one tv rights and the sky tv premier league solidarity payments all football league clubs get combined. And about £40k for every live game they host - I’d say there’ll be a few. Their annual budget for next season is approaching £50million. Starting with no debt. They still have a few high earning underachievers, but they are a scary proposition at that level.
Still be paying premier league wages though in league.one Rodwell still has one year left on £43k a week Cattermole Mcgeady Mcmanaman Wilson Oviedo Kone Matthews Plus players they have had to loan out this season due to their wages and inability to sell them (N'dong Djilobodji Lens Khazri Borini)
Yeah they are a big club and should be up there next season but I've heard the new owner is worth just 8 million pound. Can't see him spending much of his own coin if true
Was. Clause in contract means his wage following relegation falls to JUST £43k a week. He has been at Sunderland 4 seasons and played less than 80 games yet bankrolled £14 million from the club.
its an advantage no doubt, but for such as us, if we get the right manager who has some nous, then recruit early and well with players not only skilled but the right attitude, add the to what we already have and theres no reason to think we won't start to get back in the right direction. A few wins would also definitely help the existing members of the squad.
You do realise they is ftp and they have a massive wage bill. Just because they have parachute payments doesn't mean they will walk it and spend a fortune. All I was saying is yes they have been taken over but a owner worth 8 million is peanuts at this level.
Yes, he’s an Oxford fan who tried to invest there, got turned away so spent a wedge of cash at Eastleigh, got promoted to the national league and built 2 and a half new stands in his time, the pjayibging staff hasn’t really pushed on though as he had dreams of the football league. Eastleigh fans realise what he’s done for them however and there’s no real animosity towards him moving on from what I’ve heard.
Ah, wasn't being a dick genuinely didn't know what you meant. Anyway FFP means they can still blow £35m on wages next season. Isn't there a 70% of income as salary cap? Fact is they will still have a budget that is bigger than all others in the division. If they trim the wages they'll be in good shape. Keep the set up as is then they're stuffed.
They also had about 6 or 7 loanees returning to their parent clubs plus around 11 or 12 players out of contract.
Am I missing summat? They had all that cash and bigger parachute payments this year too and it didn't do them much good did it?
