Oxford as a place to live is a bit more upmarket than Barnsley though. I can't see Christine Bleakley commuting from tarn to London to film her Loose Women.

Paul Hurst, Mick McCarthy, Darrell Clarke or Uwe Rosler would be good for me.

Jack Ross and Cameron Toshack were both interviewed after we had decided on Morais.

He withdrew from the interview process........

More importantly for me I would like a director of football (or whatever name they want to give it) who runs the football side of the club on behalf of the owners. Let GG concentrate on marketing and the commercial aspects as that appears to be his experience.

Give Stuart a McCall if losing 4-0 at home to AFC Wimbledon is your idea of progress.

Ross, Big Mick or Daz ( if available). Would also look favourably if Frank Lampard fancied it

Chris Wilder. Offer him a sack load of cash and back him. This would be a real statement of intent.

    Darren Moore

Wouldn’t be adverse to a Frank Lampard style appointment.

They have just had a luxury pad built in Cookham Dean in Berkshire so the sunny climes of South Yorkshire won't have much pulling power I'm afraid. Having said that, Lampard wouldn't be a bad shout. Failing that Big Darren.

Wow. Cant believe how many people are mentioning Lampard. He's previously admitted that he would be cautious about a lower league club because he didn't want to ruin his reputation and would prefer a bigger club in the championship to manage. This was the reason he turned down the Oxford and MK Dons jobs. He's currently in the running for the Ipswich job too.

Paul Daniels or David Blain. David probably in slightly better nick than Paul I guess.

Failing that, Lampard or Scholes type appointment. As mentioned, Lamps may have fancied Oxford due to location, so Barnsley may be a tad too far, but Scholes was also courted by Oldham and that's not too far away. Think he has his head screwed on and would generate interest.

Would have suggested our first player gaffer too as an alternative - Hammill (with help from an old head) but after getting shot down and abused in twitter land I'll leave that one to one side.

    So Scholes for me.
