I believe you’re right, I’d gotten mixed up in how I was calculating that.

False, they get x% of any fee we receive for him, including our sell on.

I think you will find they have on going sales clauses attached to their original deal

Think you'll find the selling club get a % of profit made on the next sale I.E Mawsons move to Swansea. That's it.

From what I understand, Brentford's sell on clause entitled them to a percentage of any profit the club made from Alfie Mawson. That would also include money made from the the club's sell on(as it is still part of the original Swansea deal). Their interest in the player will end when our club's interest in the player ends(i.e. when we receive the money owed from the sell on).

They're all bespoke so unless anyone's got details of the exact sell-on clause then you can't pass anything off as fact.

My understanding of how they generally work is that you just receive a fixed percentage of the fee the buying club receives the first time they sell including any subsequent add-ons. However, it could be drafted such that its only the profit the buying club makes. Or it could be drafted such that they receive a percentage of the fee the buying club receives at any time (including subsequent sell on fees).

Its 15% if they are still in the premier league when he is sold. It cuts dramatically if they're relegated.

The plan worked a treat it achieved it's sole purpose cash generation the problem was it was never meant to improve the team long term just deliver cash.

The cash being required to make the club self sufficient rather than a basket case.

Surely the plan was to raise cash to invest in the team long term. Get players in for peanuts, sell at a big profit, invest in other unproven players but with a bit more money behind us to kick on. Instead we just flirted with the idea of doing something then thought **** it we'll cash in. Brentford are the example we should ave followed.

It’s a crime to suggest Heckingbottom did a decent job though, because he left how he did.

He wasn’t brilliant maybe, but able. Had he stayed I’m convinced we’d be a championship club still. Though that wouldn’t have taken that much.

I'm not. The football we played until his departure was awful with no pattern. He was found out once the good squad was no more. He should have been sacked but we got lucky once again just like in LJ's case that some basket case was willing to offer us money for him. Us being us though go out and employ the one man that could possibly do any worse.

Looking at that team August - January & given that we’d lost 8 of our starting 11 eleven within a season & nearly all the signings were kids with no championship experience where exactly should we have been in the league at the time he left?

I’d say been out of the bottom 3 was a bloody good performance from him & the players at that stage before we got Moore & McBurnie

It wasn't so much the results, it was the way we were getting beat. Like we were there to make up the numbers and never gave it a go. I could have stomached the defeats if we'd have had a go but performances like Sheff Utd away/Derby at home/ QPR away were pathetic, his system of playing 1 up top was obviously not working but he changed nothing and it was almost as though he thought they've took my players why should I try my best.

I'm not a PH fan, never really was. I think anybody could have got that team promoted. The main cause of our demise obviously lies with the lack of ambition shown by the previous regime and the subsequent lack of adequate resources from the profits made being pumped back in. And I'm certainly no Jose Morais fan. I think every decision made by the club since the promotion has been disastrous whether that be the old regime or the new owners. Time for someone to get something right. Get Rosler in.
