Still trying to live off Last Of The Summer Wine is Holmfirth. Decent enough place, but does need modernising. Can stick to just Hollowgate for Hollowgate Chippy for food, Jack Pearson for a bet and Elephant & Castle for a pint. Not much else to do there.

Picturedrome is regarded very highly as being one of the best small independent venues in the UK.

Off to see Gary Numan (yes - I know!!) in July at the Picturedrome. Saw the Levellers there a few years ago and it was a great venue.

Nice little venue for has been acts or tribute shows, but it's an occasional night venue. The Huddersfield Examiner had a piece a month or two back based around a Facebook page for Holmfirth locals moaning about how the place is run. Boarded up shops, a market that's shutting to save money and a rough nightlife. Don't think their main Italian restaurant Piccalinos has found a new owner yet and it's been for sale ages.

Picturedrome has some great bands. As for the Nook ... Baby Blonde. Too easy to drink!

Holmfirth is still a decent evening out. Although Brambles has now shut (used to be the White Hart I think), there's still the Bridge Inn and is it Herveys? A newish bar called The Winking Stag near the market is a great spot for a decent pint and food. Usually a decent especially early evening.
