Take a look. Knowing some of the lads in the media/marketing team, it must have been a hard one to put together given he was such a legend. Spent some time on it by the looks!
Great great video. The media team are one part of the club who continually punch well above their weight. One part of the club we can be proud of.
Did you hear the words at the end though? Archived audio of AH saying "No football player is bigger than one club. The club will always go on". A crafty little message from the club there.
I disagree to be honest, the video content is generally fantastic and really enjoyable but the written content is way below the standard it should be. I’m not sure if it’s because different people are in charge of the two sections or just that the person is really good at making videos but not at writing. Whatever the reason, the person in charge of writing the articles needs to go on a basic writing course or the club needs to get someone else to do it instead. Saying that, the sheer number of errors points to laziness rather than lack of talent I think as they tend to be ones that could be spotted immediately during a quick check before posting.
Ok. I’ll concentrate on the emotive and passionate output that a couple of people produce to desperately give us as fans something to enjoy and feel proud of. You can concentrate on picking up spelling errors or grammatical mistakes in some written statements the club puts out. Each to their own.
How can they be continually punching above their weight and be something to be proud of if they are constantly making really simple errors on the official website? I said above that the videos they produce are really good but it’s a fact that their written content is poor whether you like to admit it or not. As such, they cannot possibly be ‘punching well above their weight’. (Unless of course the articles don’t come under the heading of ‘media’ in which case fair enough).
Ok - perhaps I just don’t see the multitude of errors so much. Sure they’ll work on it. The content our media team produce, for the resources they have, is an absolute bloody credit to the club and to us. I’ll keep an eye out for those spelling mistakes in future.
I've noticed that things are sometimes badly worded or grammatically incorrect on the official site. I am a bit of an obsessive with the written word though. I've proofread this for a few minutes before posting. I even googled whether proofread should be hyphenated.
You must not read them very often then, or you possibly see them after they change it, because they honestly are in almost every article they post. I’m not trying to be picky about it, it really is that bad. I do agree with you about everything else they produce though.
Talk about getting choked up. I’m only mid 20s but I highly doubt I’ll ever see anyone cut in from the left and score worldies for us as much as Hammill has done.
My grammar/spelling isn't always the best but I use this tool called Grammarly. It's bloody great. Works as a browser plug-in, as a stand-alone app and even has add-ins for MS Word etc. You can see below in the screenshot (although it's only doing spelling here it does proper grammatical checking) There is a free version but I pay for it. Worth every penny.
