First time in over 20 years as a season ticket holder that the club didn't bother asking me to renew.

Wonder if it has made any difference to sales.

Follows the modern trend of doing everything, including marketing, online. Suits me. I don't need paper advertising. It just gets immediately recycled.

In all honesty with how piss poor the new owners have been with communication since they came in we probably wouldn't get told if the club had upped sticks and moved to China

Nope. I haven't had a season ticket since 2011/12, ergo I should be exactly the sort of person they want to coax back into the fold.

What modern trend is that? All major companies spend an absolute fortune advertising offline. I've had leaflets from sky, bt, British gas and Ford through the door in the last couple of days. I've no idea what ads I have or haven't seen online

Are you sure that's the case? Only I remember meeting with Mansford a few years back and he told me that they send out the info via email these days.
The only people that generally get (posted) letters are those that haven't renewed as the season approaches and in the past, they did various marketing exercises to encourage that segment.

I think I've always got them. I definitely got one last year and the year before and every year before that they were sent to my parents house because I'd forgotten to update my address so I remember them getting sent to the wrong address.

This year I didn't renew until a couple of days before the deadline so should have had one even if they were only sending them out to the late crowd.

I've had a letter every year for at least the last 5 or 6 years, usually received just before the early bird offer opened.
    This season, zilch.

Depends what you mean by "letter". If you mean something printed on paper in an envelope with a stamp on it, I've not had one. But then again I hardly get any of those any more these days, as most companies have given people an option to stop receiving printed letters. If you mean a communication from the club in whatever form, I've been bombarded with information from the club about season tickets. I renewed ages ago but still get messages about it.

The trouble with email is the address can change more than your residential one does. I've had three because of ISP changes over the years. I'd wager that a lot of the club's communications are going to inactive accounts. Then there's the issue of older people generally not being as IT savvy. I think you've got to do both.

My Grandad, who has no online presence got a reminder letter the Thursday before the deadline. We’d already sorted it online through our network but if not for us he would have been none the wiser.
