Excellent video. What a wonderful player he was for us. He's up there with the best. Thanks for all the memories Adam.
More gutted about him leaving than I am the relegation. Not sure there has ever been a red's player who has a finer collection of goals. Hope he is back some day in some capacity.
Then I’m pretty sure the club would have communicated that like they did with Scowen and Watkins in last years retained list. “Josh Scowen and Marley Watkins have been in discussions regarding new contracts however, following meetings with Club representatives, both players have expressed an interest to explore other options.”
The club had an option to extend his contract for a year. It is their decision not to invoke this extension surely
Did we? Wasn’t mentioned when we announced him signing his last contract. https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2016/june/adam-hammill-is-staying-a-red/
One of my favourite moments of the last few years - him scoring away at Wolves back in the Championship 2016/17 in about October to go into the top three, and coming over and standing on the wall in front of us. I remember thinking we had a really special side. ThAt was just about the moment the previous board decided we weren’t arsed.
Not sure ST. I thought I saw stuff from Adam's wife about exciting fresh starts, moving to Australia etc. I just wish people would stop using half stories to construct their own narrative. Maybe Adam expressed a desire for the club's one year option to be waived. Maybe the club decided not to activate it because they didn't feel they could justify his salary in L1. I don't know. Neither, I suspect, does anyone else on here. If it's the latter I would like a bit more of an explanation of reasoning from the club.
Superb stuff. That lad is a proper legend. Complete heart and soul in this club. Good luck Adam wherever you go won.
Brilliant video, befitting a wonderfully talented footballer. Thank you, Adam, for giving this old man so many memorable & happy moments. I wish you well in your future endeavours and I'll miss you so much.
