It doesn't though, does it? If the Queen ever tried to actually intervene and impose her will over parliament there'd be a revolution the next day, and rightly so. Say what you want about politicians but they are at least elected and accountable. Saying that you'd rather the final say lie with someone who has no qualification other than centuries of inbreeding is absolutely mental.
Yep your right we would crush the socialist wasters into the ground and the Crown would again be all conquering
Why stop there? Let's reinstate the colonies, subjugate the darkies again and send the poor to the workhouses. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN.
They? Who are THEY. I doubt very much if NHS, Elderly, Homeless and other much needed cases will ever see a penny of any of the money you think has been generated.
Gloryfying the fans who happily sing songs about the murder of children, women and men, all in the name of politics... deary me.
I think you've shown a lack of class with this thread, Kestrel. It seems to me that the royal wedding brought an awful lot of pleasure to a lot of people. I'd be fairly republican in outlook, but I think Saturday looked to be a joyous occasion which appealed to many at a time where we seem to have been more divided than ever as a nation. It's a joyless existence if everything you see gets bogged down in your political dogma. And one last thing. My late mother loved everything to do with the Royal Family, which was of course her right. I would not have cared to see her fall within the description contained in your disgraceful original thread title. Maybe up the bar a little next time?
Announced that the cost of the wedding was circa £30 million paid by Prince Charles from the income from the Duchy of Cornwall estates, but, in return, it gave the British economy a £500 million boost thanks to increased tourism, hotel, catering and merchandise sales. It's also estimated that the UK economy will benefit from the increase in the number of Americans who will Holiday in Britain in the future, hoping to get a sighting of the new Princess.
