Us. We were too heavily dependant on this particular loan happening, it dragged far too late to bring in an option B and it left us light up front for four months.
Hecky. Big bollock dropped in our office, no fax machine involved. Why do they always say faxes anyway? They're emailed.
Good grief. No wonder he pissed off up the M1. A fit McBurnie from August and a full season with Hecky at the helm and I've no doubt we'd still be a Championship club now.
I'm not sure they even use email for the official paperwork anymore. I remember seeing somewhere that the FA/UEFA/FIFA have some sort of web portal that allows the teams to register the transfer and upload the paperwork. Not sure where I saw it though, so don't take that as gospel...
But was he a winger really though? For me he played as a wide striker, so wasn't entrusted with defensive responsibilities. That fell on the left central midfielder. When the ball was down the other flank, Oli was drifting inside to become part of a front 2 when we were on the attack. Which is where the majority of his goals came from. We can debate this all day long but for me we wouldn't have got any more out of Oli had he been played as an actual central striker.
