Apparently Reading are set to offer him a contract. Be interested to know if we did actually make him an offer, seems a little short sighted not to keep him on.

Be quite surprised if he ends up in the Championship. Good luck to him if he does though.

I was hoping he would sign for Perth Glory or at least somewhere else abroad. I think he'd be a good fit there and I don't really want to see him play for another English club.

Disagree. Great servant to us, but don't think he has much to offer in the champ anymore unfortunately. Could maybe see one of the promoted teams having a punt on him but can't see him getting many games at reading or Forest. Happy to be proven wrong.

Interesting to note that Hammill effectively failed at Wolves, Huddersfield and Rotherham and was a free agent when he re-joined for his second spell. He has a great affinity with the club and with the fans and sometimes it just clicks with certain players at certain clubs. Can I see him commanding a place in the first XI at a Reading if Forest? Probably not, though I certainly wouldn’t begrudge him the opportunity.

I absolutely think he's good enough for the Championship still. You can't expect one player to take on the entire opposition every week singlehandedly and succeed.... and his attitude to graft after being dropped for a month or so was admirable.

If you gave him consistent fullbacks who could adapt to and understand his style of play and give an option outside, he might have more ability to cut in and shoot. And it's not his fault when he did put balls into the box that striker movement was so poor or the finishing (Leeds away the classic example) so inept.

Was it his best season? No. Would he look and perform much much better with a team with a decent midfield and strike force? 100%.

I think he would have had a far better season “stats” wise if people had got on the end of some of his quality crosses.

In a slightly better team can see him being a quality player for another year or two.

Good luck to him wherever he ends up.

I can see why we let him go when he's about five years older than the oldest players we try and sign. He's too good for the Australian league and personally think it's a ******** rumour about him going there. Lifestyle would be great, but he's still young at any football club not called Barnsley FC so will surely want to keep pushing himself in the best league possible.

I think if Adam joins a championship club who have the nucleus of a quality squad , then he will fit in perfectly , with better players around him he has the ability to be a success . Good luck to him , love the guy & sad that he has left us

Did he fail on the pitch at Udders and Rotherham though. Used to work with an Udders fan who really rated him and said it was his Off-field indisciplines that cost him there. He was on- loan at Rotherham with these problems still hanging overhim

Good luck to Adam but I think he will be a squad player at forest or reading. The first season back in the championship he had a frustrating season and limited game time ryan Kent keeping him out of the team for alot of the season. Then another frustrating one just gone we can all say the squad around him wasn't good enough ect but all he showed was glimpes of what he is capable of the pace has gone.
Worth a punt for a promoted team or as a squad player but I can't see him turning it on week in week out on the wing in the championship anymore. Maybee he will prove me wrong just my opinion.

Pretty much how i see it. Think some folks judgements on hammill are slightly clouded by his past achievements. Which is understandable. Hope he proves me wrong.

Shows how stupid we are not to sign him on for another season.
