With two Gary Willard clones running the line.

For footballing reasons Shrewsbury & Fulham deserve promotion but I want to see Hourihane in the prem & I don’t mind seeing local sides do well that aren’t Leeds or Sheffield based.

And no interest in Exeter - Coventry.

It’ll be nice to watch 3 games & not really be bothered by the outcome, no stress for a chance

Anyone who was at the Exeter home match in 76-77 will remember it well, 3-0 up at half time & cruising, final score lost 3-4!

I'm happy now that Door Boy aren't getting promoted.

(They're about to lose their manager, too. May they suffer.)

I think Villa fans are tossers, so I'll have Fulham from that game. Don't care about Rotherham or Shrewsbury, but I'd like to see Coventry stay down.

Remember it well. Was gutted. We had a school cricket match that evening and all of us wanted to go to the game. We bowled first then told Martyn Moxon he had to flippin well knock the runs off quick sticks so we could get to the game.
He did. We did. They lost!

    I predict.

Villa, Rotherham and Exeter to go up.

Fulham are a great team but think Villa will do a job on them.

Rotherham are well organised and stronger.

Think Exeter will sneak through, but only a hunch

Didn’t we have a rookie goalie in that day? His first and last game as I recall. Believe Mike Summerbee was their manager at the time

You're mixing that game up with the 4-4 draw against Stockport during our 1978/79 promotion season, mate. That was Gary Copley's only league game for us.

Wow. Steve Flack. Forgotten all about him - until now! Wouldn’t make my all-time worst Cardiff team due to some truly appalling strikers - but he’s not far off. No idea how he became a professional footballer???

Looks like Steve Flack was your version of Stuart Rimmer who we signed from Chester. Scored loads for them, but struggled with the step up.

Mad isn’t it, I remember Stuart Rimmer as being quite a prolific lower-League goal scorer!

We’ve had loads that have scored everywhere except with us - Ronnie Moore & Tony Philliskirk (who both ended up as center half’s at Cardiff), Steve Lynex, Steve White, Andy Saville, Kevin Campbell, Robbie Fowler ffs to name a few - through to Adam Le Fondre & Omar Bogle. Barely a goal between them lol.

I once went to Exeter to watch us around the late sixties , it was a nightmare . We set off from Barnsley bus station at 11 pm on friday night & got back in the middle of the night on the Sunday morning . We lost the match 6 v 2 with a lad for Exeter called Fred Binney popping 4 goals in , & to compound my misery, I copped one on the chin from a skinhead Exeter fan , happy days !
