For all you out there who are saying there is plenty of time to appoint a new manager or head coach as the players don’t come back till June.Well it has not stopped West Ham,Stoke,Sunderland maybe,Queens Park Rangers and West Brom from recruiting now Oh nearly forgot Arsenal.I guess their players must start back early.
We definitely needed another new manager thread. We know how it works. The club will wait and wait and wait, before panic-appointing someone in the middle of July, followed by a flurry of panic-buys on deadline day.
You know the routine... our original choices turn us down and we end up with a last minute panic, players and head coach. T'wouldn't be Barnsley FC otherwise !
All depends who we are targeting - if Hurst is on the list then we will have to wait until after the play-offs. If we want Ross then we will have to wait and see what happens with Ipswich. Not as simple as some teams have already got a manager so we should have one by now too. Taking a measured and perhaps more systematic approach to choosing out new manager is fine by me. Really don't understand why people are so panicky.
Obviously, as I have not received a rejection letter yet then my application must be on the shortlist. Although, perhaps I should have actually applied first. The likes of Arsenal and West Ham, and to a lesser extent the Championship sides will have current and prospective players in this little tournament in Russia over the summer. You might have heard of it. We will be looking at players that are enjoying an holiday after finishing a season in the National League, or Scottish Division 3.
"i think it's because we're looking for a foreign boss... that's why there's no rumours" There I've said it!!
I'll go out on a limb here and guarantee that we have a new coach appointed well before the end of June. I'll also guarantee that within three days of the appointment there'll be people on here bairning that the club haven't signed any new players yet.
What if we’ve identified the preferred candidate but said candidate is unwilling or unable to discuss terms until the season is over? I’d sooner we stick to our guns as opposed to changing plans and looking elsewhere for the sake of two weeks.
I bought a tin of luncheon meat last night at Asda. I can't stand the stuff, but there was only one tin left on the shelf and before I knew what was happening I'd grabbed it and dashed off to the checkout. Just mindless hysteria, I guess. Not sure it works quite like that in football though...
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ , ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ - ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ & ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ .
Is the fact that Nice are looking for a new gaffer affecting us as well? Heard on Talk Sport (yeah I know) this morning that Viera is in talks at Nice. Once they get that sorted they'll have no distractions assuming the owners are wanting to be as hands on as the last time.
Clubs that hire managers so they need to appoint faster than us. When you have a head coach it's not as important at the moment with players on holiday.
It’s taken Arsenal months but they still haven’t announced it, Stoke haven’t appointed yet, QPR fair enough, West Brom pretty simple given it was an internal promotion, West Ham knew months ago they were getting rid of Moyes, so based on your examples QPR aside we are still ahead of the curve. Ipswich still not appointed either.
I keep telling you all manager all ready in place just waiting for the board to get together to anounce it ....watch this space ....
