Looking that way at minute. When will the ambition kick in? Get a manager that is gunna push the club forward, and keep doing so next season in the championship, get a good manager in that’s gunna be init for the long run even if it means paying him a bit more than usual.. come on you ‘ambitious’ reds!
Unless we spend a LOT of money on the wages of the new manager we have to accept we're going to be behind Sunderland and Ipswich in the pecking order. Maybe we could swing someone away from Ipswich with the right promises. I'd imagine though that if us and Ipswich are after Hirst he's going to be off to Ipswich at this point in time.
Sounds like Ross has agreed to be Sunderland’s manager without either Sunderland or Ross having the decency to tell St Mirren. He has a £50k buy out in his contract, so it would seem Sunderland have just circumnavigated the need to ask permission. Doesn’t look good for Ross or Sunderland. Imagine will leave a bit of a sour taste with the St Mirren fans. Saw something on twitter that Jack Ross winning Scottish Manager of the year is akin to being crowned Best Tooth in Shane McGowans mouth. Made me laugh.
If Hurst goes to Ipswich then presumably that leaves Grayson, Jolley and Bowyer. I wouldn’t be upset with any of those candidates in truth.
Well I wouldn’t want any of the above ! If this board are serious about moving the club forward then the time is now to show some intent . The club needs a lift and some positivity . They obviously want to market the club abroad etc which means appointing someone of a certain status , someone recognisable to the outside world . I realise there’ll be a limit to what can be done but I guess we’ll soon see !
We aren't going to get a manager, we are going to get a head coach. Ambition should kick in next week when we can approach Hurst if that's who we want. I guess we could have approached him already, but we would look like ***** purposely causing distruption to Shrewsbury before the biggest match probably in their history. We can wait till next week.
Bowyer and grayson you can see why they would be linked.... But jolley?? Shown nothing at even league 2 level so why should he be considered for a top league 1 team??
Would by happy with Bowyer. Not so keen on Grayson despite his record. And Jolley seems to have a decent CV however it would be a massive step up.
Jolley is going all the way to the top, I expect he will be working in the premier league again soon! may not have the glitzy CV yet but he is very ambitious, very highly rated COACH, eulogised by Sean Dyche at Burnley, did a really good job in Sweden with a tiny club and took over Grimsby one point above relegation having played 2 games more than the others, ended up well safe won more than he lost with a terrible terrible team.
