If you could go back and attend five Barnsley games that you've witnessed...plus one you haven't. What would they be?

    For me:-

Any game around 1973, 1974. Kenny Brown, Peter Price, etc..Reason....simply to put into context the other games.

Grimsby Town at home 1979. Clinched promotion after years in the absolute doldrums in front of a 21000 crowd almost twice as big as any I'd seen before at Oakwell.

Man City home league Cup 1981? 82? thirty odd thousand there, going toe to toe with a top division top six team and beating them with a fabulous goal

Bradford City ...to clinch promotion to the Prem. I was too nervous to enjoy the match first time round.

Millwall...play off final. A fabulous team and one of the very few times as a Barnsley fan I felt utterly confident of winning.

I did actually miss the 1912 Cup win.....by a few years....so that as my one I never saw.

    1. Home to Barrow 1968, my first ever game.
    2. Home to Grimsby Town 1979, when we clinched promotion to the Third Division.
    3. Home to Bradford City 1997.
    4. Away to Liverpool 2008, FA Cup 5th Round.
    5. The Millwall Play Off Final 2016.
    6. The 1912 Fa Cup Final Replay.

Obviously one I didn’t see would imo be the one that most Reds fans would pick and that’s the 1912 FA Cup replay at Bramall lane.

    Rochdale home, 1970. 1-0 win.
Pure nostalgia and sentimentality... my first visit to Oakwell. And I'd love to spend another 90 minutes watching footie with my Dad, God rest him. Apart from the goal, the only thing I remember was the ref taking the players off the pitch cos somebody had set off a smoke bomb.

    Cambridge home, 1977. 2-1 win.
A great game enjoyed with my teenage mates. Turning over the division 4 leaders, with just a handful of games remaining, meant we were in with a real chance of promotion....at least until we were derailed a couple of weeks later by Exeter City.

Brighton, league cup, home, 1981. 4-1 win
We'd already dumped Swansea out of the League Cup, and we'd do the same to Man City further down the line, but in between we smashed Brighton to pieces. Something people forget, I think, is that all three of those sides were in the top 8 of League One when we beat them. That's how good we were that season.

    Stoke home, 1996. 3-0 win.
Terrific performance by an unstoppable Reds team, to make it 5 wins from the opening 5 league games.. This was the one that made me realise we might see something very special that season. As an added bonus, Neil Thompson's screamer was worth the admission price alone.

    Leeds home, 2010. 5-2 win.
    I don't really need to explain this one,do I? :)

Great idea for a thread, this was. It's really cheered me up trawling though my Oakwell memories.

I think I should have given the 1912 Final as a freebie Marlon, and asked for any other game than that. :)

Birmigham home the season just gone...we won and it was the last day I spent with my dad who introduced me to the Reds and had watched them for 60 plus years. They didnt win again until Brentford (H) months later.....
