    Witnessed:

    Barnsley 2-0 Bradford
    Liverpool 1-2 Barnsley
    Barnsley 1-0 Chelsea
    Barnsley 7-1 Huddersfield
    Birmingham 0-4 Barnsley.

I'd like to have been in the record home crowd against Stoke.

The smoke at the Rochdale game was caused by a fire at Grove Street School. I remember us all leaving the ground and then filing back in when the fire had been put out.

I remember in the promotion season we played WBA at home quite late on - they were in mid table with nothing to play for and were quite happy to lose to us in the hope we'd beat Wolves to automatic promotion. I remember chants of "you're going up" and I think there was a conga line when they were 2-0 down!

Thanks for clearing that one up. I don't remember leaving the ground, but I was in the Brewery Stand, so maybe we didn't...or more likely I've just forgotten it.

    1. Home to Grimsby Town 1979, promotion game over 20000 fans ( I might even see the kick off as I missed it queuing to get in.)
    2. Home to Newport 1981 - game that clinched promotion (though the Rotherham game the match before was more stressfull)
    3. Away to Liverpool 2008, FA Cup
    4. Home to Chelsea 2008 FA Cup
    5. The Millwall Play Off Final 2016.

There are many more I could pick

As for the missed game, assuming the Cup final replay is a given
Home to Bradford City 1997. - wasnt able to get to many games at that time and didnt see this game - only promotion or playoff clinching game I've missed since I started watching us in 1971, Or any game from the Prem season - only season I have never actually seen us play a single game.

    Games I saw

1 Rotherham away 1981/2 - one of the very best games I've ever seen.
2 Enfield away FA Cup (at White Hart Lane) 1980/1 - for the hostile atmosphere and a great performance from Glav and the lads.
3 Birmingham away playoff 2000 - spent the first half scared shitless with the home fans before moving at half time.
4 Bradford home 1997 - say no more, never forget examining the mark on the post made by Sundgott's miss.
5 Halifax home 1978/9 - first league game of the season and a hat-trick for Joicey.

Games I didn't. the obvious would be 1912 cup final but I'll go for

1 Liverpool FA Cup 2008 just for the winner at the end.

    78/79 Grimsby at home:
Pure euphoria and after supporting my beloved town as a bairn in the doldrums this was it!

    81/82 Man City at home:
You just had to be there! Unbelievable atmosphere. Crammed full ! And a team to be oh so proud of.

    81/82 Rotherham away:
Beautiful day! To me, it says everything about the team, the town, the buzz at the time! We took the place over and smacked the previous year's champions in the third. Not only that; our support was just first class!!

    88/89 Chelsea at home:
FA Cup ... 4-0 against top of the league. Typical us for quite some years in those days! It reminds me of the spirit we once had...

    96/97 Bradford City at home:
The one I missed! I had a ticket but had fallen out with football for a while. A close friend had kept the faith but could not, for love nor money, get a ticket......... I offered up mine!

    Blackburn Rovers 5-1 (early 2000)

The one I missed (a bit before my time)... Man City early 80's Trevor Aylott. This game still gets mentioned a lot on here

I was in the Ponty end at this game. It was a Good Friday game on SKY.
Another chant I remember from the away end, was "$h1t on the Villa, $h1t on the Villa for us!"

    1) Southend 07/08 beginning of the cup run Friday night wagged the day off college to go unbelievable day!!

    2) Southend away again think it was the season before when Kyle Reid scored from the corner to keep us up I think my 1st away day without the old man watching me

    3) Liverpool cup again obvious reasons I remember a guy in front of me shouting at a steward for sitting in a seat asking him to show his Barnsley season ticket after the ticket fiasco

    4) Peterborough away can’t remember the year butterfield scores and Davies did we win 4-3 incredible atmosphere.

    5) Fulham home the other year 1-0 not particularly for the game but it was the 1st day back at oakwell with my old man after being told he was in remission incredible day little did I know it would become an absolute tortuous season lol

roll on next week tickets booked with Manx let’s hope we get ticket news now!!

I was there, we went 3-0 up only to concede 3 goals in 5 minutes before a Davies thunderbolt decided it. The other great thing about it was standing on the terrace.

    1) Enfield away - my dad always made us go in the home end e.g. West Ham in league cup and Fulham on that wet Friday night with Riley in goal. Luckily we lived down south so we could mix until we scored of course.

    2) Birmingham away in play offs

    3) Fulham home when 3-nil down

    4) I enjoyed Charlton at home in promotion season - great attacking football

    5) Rotherham away in the cup. A one nil win - again stood in the home end on my stool that my grandad made me. Think my dad agreed to meet up with a Rotherham fan after we scored and celebrated. Don’t think it was for a cosy pint and chat
