Here with the Mrs and the eldest, we bought him Ed Sheeran tickets for his birthday. I have to say, the stadium is very nice. I’m on the top tier, the leg room is much more than most places - and each tier is three steps up from the last so you’ll generally always be able to see over who’s in front. Not always the case at the bigger grounds. It’s not uncomfortably steep either. Quite impressed, haven’t been since the league cup tie all those years ago and didn’t really remember that much about the place. The area has changed a lot since then, training complex built and roads look to be rerouted a bit maybe, all massive scale. You can more or less see the money. I’m not not sure many Friday big shops will be done at the ASDA just outside though, the place is pretty gridlocked all round.
Remember the FA Cup quarter final under Flipflop, long dreary concourses, big metal doors and except for us lot about as much noise as funeral in a library What you get with the newer grounds very little to them
I’d forgotten that game tbh, didn’t go to that one though so thats probably why. It’s certainly true the newer grounds can lack something in terms of atmosphere but let’s be fair Oakwell is rarely rocking, and most bigger clubs’ fans would struggle to be excited at watching their team muller a pretty poor side who didn’t show much fight on the day, City didn’t exactly need the twelfth man behind them that day from memory
Hope you and your family enjoy yourselves, mate. My daughter and daughter-in-law will be there two weeks from today to see Taylor Swift.
I'll be across the city in a couple of weeks to see some young up and coming band called The Rolling Stones
