Every JSA claimant who either declines an interview, fails to turn up for an interview or generally makes no attempt to get a job during an interview should lose all benefits and instead be given basic rations to live off.
Lazy useless selfish tossers and the country is full of them

Not sure about unpopular. Controversial, harshly true in many, though not all cases.
Where I work, we use a contract cleaning company. Their area manager called in last week and was telling me she had two vacancies she needed to fill. She had 24 applicants and attempted to interview them all. 23 of the 24, TWENTY EFFIN THREE, declined the interview but asked for a letter confirming they'd applied so they could continue with their benefits!!!
But knowing what I know, because of what Mrs Broddle's Perm does for a living, it is also true to say that not everyone on benefits is a scrounger and has this as their chosen lifestyle.

You really need to knock the posting on the head once you’ve had a beer. What a ridiculous post and one that clearly isn’t one born from any knowledge or experience of life at the coal face and what it’s like to attend a job centre.

I honestly can’t believe that on a Friday night that you’ve chosen completely out of the blue to start a thread like that.

There a plenty of ‘lazy useless selfish tossers’ that are in work as well who do little or nothing to justify their salary.

Typical bloody Grayson. Preferred Ainsworth anyway. Although heard he moonlights in an INXS covers band.

I don't want to patronise you mate, you must know by now that I'm more than willing to discuss anything with you, but don't fall into the trap of blaming the poor. Yes, there's some lazy arsed ne'er-do-wells who will never amount to anything in this country. So what? Would any of us want to be like that? Of course not. It's a horrible life. And it doesn't even really cost us anything. It's a pittance. If they want to have a sh*t life just let them. Don't let politicians and businessmen skew your perception of what has ****** it all up for everyone. Billions and billions have been lost to our economy by daft rich ******* gambling on the stock exchange on ludicrous deals that they knew could never win but earned them millions. The country bailed them out, they all still got paid, and we suffered austerity for the remainder of our lives in all probability. And then they made us blame each other. Don't let them do it. Know your enemy. It's not some daft scrote who can't be arsed, it's people who are manipulating you while taking away everything that really matters.

I dont think it's unpopular. When that's the genuine case of someone who "can't be bothered and taking the piss".

    I've no qualms with that.

However I have seen first hand plenty of folk giving it their all and being absolutely shafted by the state and having everything rejected. Even losing homes.

The trick is to distinguish between them.

I agree that the poor in general are not to blame for things but I still do think there is any excuse for fraudulently claiming job seekers at the expense of everyone else. Its not just them who are having a **** life (which thry obviously don't consider **** and are happy sat on their arse with someone else paying for them to watch TV) their laziness affects other people. I have less money in my pocket because I am funding their lifestyle. I am taking up my time pointlessly reading application after application from people who don't even want a job but have been made to apply and I am the one who has been sat at 8pm on a Friday night waiting for candidates to come for interviews only to find NONE of them turned up

If you can work then you should try and get a job.
Truth is though there isn't enough jobs to go round.
The whole reform system's been used to bring back the rules of the workhouse. They went hand in hand with anti union laws and charging for employment tribunals. Take away justice from the common people and allow bad employers to treat folk like filth.
It's never been a black and white issue, channel 5's many supposed shockumentaries are not representative of many people's lives.

Fully agree. And the ones who don't want work should be penalised so those who need help can be given more

We spend far more on pension-age benefits than we do on working-age benefits. And don't give me any of this "I paid in my whole life" nonsense either. Most people will pay in much less than they take out. If you ever want to read something really rage-inducing go look up WASPI on twitter. Bunch of women bairning because they have to work to the same age as men. And people have the nerve to call millennials entitled.

Sorry, but this sort of bile is exactly what is leading us into, for example, the Brexit nightmare. Leave it to the Daily Mail.

I don’t think many people simply claiming JSA would turn down work, it’s a pittance to live on, the people turning down jobs and intentionally failing interviews tend to have a house full of kids and some made up illness that’s hard to disprove.

Load of ********. When I calculate my total tax and NI contributions over a lifetime of work I can absolutely guarantee I've put in more than I can possibly take out. Another one directing bile against the wrong target.

I’ve known people who were working unpaid gaining valuable experience whilst applying for jobs being sanctioned for refusing to quit the valuable work experience in favour of doing unpaid work at a supermarket with no option or chance of a job at the end of it. It’s not always black and white.
