To be honest rotherham finished on one of the lowest points totals ever their fans were probley thinking the same this time last year. The difference between the two leagues is big. Feel for shrewsbury thinks they will struggle next season.
well I think that we have a better set of players than any of them, so with a few additions we may well be able to do it.
How incredibly boring. And for What? Rotherham will finish bottom again With 20 odd points, Blackburn and Wigan will do well not to go straight back again too.
No idea how you can be confident of that. None of last seasons promoted sides from league 1 went down and Millwall who we all expected to struggle almost made the playoffs. Sides like Bolton and Birmingham will struggle again next season. I have no Jude’s who will actually come back down but fairly confident it won’t be all 3 promoted sides
I don't think Birmingham will struggle next season at all. Wolves struggled the season before they walked the league. If I were a betting man I'd say rotherham will struggle they took 14k to Wembley and will have one of the smallest budgets in the league, Blackburn have owners who don't give a **** out of all the sides I think Wigan have the best chance of staying up.
Ipswich favourites I'd imagine the players who have performed well this season for them will be taken by other clubs aswell.
Hard to see how Shrewsbury were at the top most of the season, unless it was just a case of freezing on the big stage. They have made a habit of losing Wembley finals. Stefan Payne was their top scorer this season but looked ineffective today. The only bits of real quality were their goal and their keeper’s late save from Ryan Williams.
Agree with this, seeing what Rotherham have done in league one after finishing the previous championship season with the lowest points total in history gives me no concerns. I dont think last summer they had a massive overall of their squad either and so you're right in that the gap between the two divisions is massive and clearly we won't get punished for every single mistake next season. A few additions are required along with getting the head coach appointment correct and I'm confident we can finish top 2.
If them getting promoted is proof of how far apart the leagues are then what does the fact that all three sides who were promoted from that league stayed up and 2 out of 3 finished comfortably in the top half mean? Can't have it both ways
The scenario... Coventry win today, fixtures come out, our first game Coventry away, we lose 4-0 as usual. That will show how easily we won't walk the league !
Righting was on the wall from the start of the season din't Rotherham put 4 past us in a pre-season game.
Bolton will do well to not get relegated. It won’t matter to us who goes down next season as well not be playing them the season after next.
Don’t underestimate the influence of Paul Warne on Rotherham’s success this season. He’s an outstanding man manager and has created a great team spirit. That’s half the battle in League One, whatever squad you’ve got. Barnsley need to appoint the right manager/coach or they’ll struggle next season...
