Spot on dude although I tend to forget Wilson after 1998. Never wanted him back but glad we did just to sack him.

Yeah, it’s going to be an extremely difficult appointment.

Burned his boats so to speak, so it’s a No from me. Supported him 100% whilst he was here, but he departed his home town club, and he’s done for me.

The second half of 2016 season and the first half of 2017 is the best football I’ve seen at Barnsley for 20 years plus years - only the Wilson promoted team were better.
Hecky did this with not much time or money.
Clubs like Leeds, Forest and Sunderland don’t chase a manager if he’s rubbish.

Hecky had more or less a full team sold from under him.

Ok - he left to go to the white shi.te - and in leaving he caused upset in the squad that Morais couldn’t mend - and then Morais added to the upset by tinkering with the team.
But we still don’t know exactly why Hecky left.
One week or so before he left he was saying there are exciting times ahead at Barnsley.

But there’s no chance of Hecky coming back because he has indicated he was shoved out - when he said that Barnsley were out of order when they said that they were ‘surprised and disappointed’ about him leaving.
In other words Barnsley (Ganaye) was neither surprised or disappointed that Hecky left.

The owners want a manager with international appeal - so that’s not Hecky or any of the other suggested managers on here or in the media.

No way. He was found wanting as a coach with the new intake of players.

Not much time or money he took over a team who had just won 7 on spin was it? It was one of the best squads ever to play in league one mawson, bree, robo, scowen, brownhill, watkins,Conor,Fletcher, winnall some real talent. He isn't doing so good at Leeds with a squad worth tens of millions otherwise this thread wouldn't be on here! Like I've already said jimmy Floyd got Burton promoted as league 2 champions with no money the season after he had them top of league one he then went to QPR in Jan. He has no club now after been sacked from Northampton was it? Hecky will 'e playing golf with him soon by looks

If you try to throw a full squad of lower league players together IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP when the season is already starting - and some of the targets you are after do not materialise - and then unsurprisingly the team struggles.
Does that mean you are a failure as a manager ???

    FFS !!!
    Short memories

Yeah, they always get it right, those three. They'd never appoint people like Dave Hockaday, Darko Milanic, Uwe Rosler, Neil Redfearn, Dougie Freedman, Stuart Pearce, Sean O'Driscoll, Simon Grayson, or Chris Coleman, would they?

Proof indeed that they 'don't chase a manager if he's rubbish.'

You would have to have a memory like an elephant to remember when he was any good, which was back when he had a set of players far too good for league one.

He got plenty of credit for that, in fact he was still untouchable when we were losing for fun last season.

Now you could blame losing all those players for his demise, but then what excuse does he have at Leeds for 4 wins in 16? Those leeds players got up to the play off places before Christmas. They didn't lose a load of players in January.

Leeds fans hate him, he's about as popular as Brian Clough was back in the day.

Time will tell if he's any good. Flicker didn't belly ache when he took the job with a struggling squad. He knuckled down and got the best out of them.

Even if you're in the "Hecky didn't buy the players" camp, his scattergun team selection and repetitive one-midget-up-top tactics left a lot to be desired.
