Ye I think that’s over the last 4 seasons so might be slightly longer than Klopp’s reign but Spurs were £100m+, Arsenal & Chelsea were £150-200m & City & United we’re both over £400m over the same period which makes it even more impressive
He's spent £220 million and has been lucky that a previous regime brought in a player that he was able to sell for £150 million - thus making his net spent look decent. Its like making out David Flitcroft is some kind of god because his net spend was immense. When in truth he just sold John Stones.
Bit of a weird comparison that, more appropriate would be to ask if Guardiola or Mourinho ever have to sell their best players. Another question would be how many managers could get henderson, milner and lovren to a champions league final playing great football.
He's got to 7 finals - impressive record. Okay so he's lost the last 6, but don't think that's a reflection on him, just coincidence and the fact that he's been the underdog in them all.
Beat by far the easiest draw of the semis that fluked their way through and Man City when Guardiola seems stumped as to how to face Klopp. Hardly immense. First bit of quality they faced they were found out, but in the classic Liverpool way where they can be 'unlucky' and 'victims' in a deserved loss.
He brought Coutinho on loads, that’s what he does, develops players. Strange comparison to John Stones who’d only been around the first team 5 months & looked quality from his first game. There was huge difference in ability & value from the Coutinho Liverpool signed to the one they sold. They’ve just had major work done expanding the stadium, he’s balanced the books, it’s no coincidence that Van Dijk came in during the same window Coutinho was sold. They can’t just throw money around like the Manchester clubs, PSG, Barca & Real.
Beat a Roma side that had just beat Barca, the team most thought were the best team in Europe & have only lost one league game all season. Also beat City, a side who’ve reached 100 points & have only lost twice in the league all season. It weren’t as hard as Real’s run but it definitely wasn’t easy & they certainly didn’t go out to the first decent team they played
Beat Barca in a bizarre & flukey game, not sure if you watched it. Roma finished 20 pts behind Juve in a fairly mediocre serie a, you aren't telling me they're a top side. As I already said, the Pep, Klopp thing is weird and goes back to their time in Germany, he just has the read of him. So yes, the first actually quality team they faced they were totally found out.
I don't debate he's a fantastic manager, whether scraping into the top 4 and beating an average Italian side having spent £250m constitutes your idea of fantastic that's your business. Looking forward to seeing what Salah can achieve at a big club.
They beat them home & away in the quarters, just because Klopp has had the better of Guardiola doesn’t mean they didn’t beat a quality side. In the first half of the second leg City were superb & threw everything at them & Liverpool held out when almost everyone said their defence wasn’t up to it. Roma weren’t great in Serie A but they were superb in Europe, unbeaten at home & topped a group containing Chelsea & Atletico Madrid before knocking Barca out in the quarters, good side. Worth noting Real were way off Barca in the league & Liverpool were way off City in the league too.
Your arguments are not coherent at all. If you understand anything about the premier league, then you would know that Jurgen has far less resources than his rivals.
Watched a documentary on Salah the other night. What a player, what a man. Very humble lad who is sharing his good fortune by spending large amounts to improve facilities in his home town in Eygpt. Big mates with Frank Lampard who took him under his wing when he played at Chelsea. Realises that following his exploits last season, he's hot property and some top teams could be clamouring to sign him, but has said that whilst he's flattered at all the awards and accolades he's receiving, his family and himself are settled on Merseyside and he dearly wants to remain a Liverpool player. Fair play to the lad. Hope his loyalty is rewarded.
