Been problems with child abuse for years and it goes right to the top- picking out one group isn't going to solve the problem.

Institutionalised abuse had blighted this country for years - churches, care homes and as we've seen recently at some of our clubs. I'd have far more respect if he didn't target one group. Blinkered isn't the word!!

So, if the trial collapsed as a result of Mr Yaxley-Lennon's actions, would it help the issue with grooming gangs or make it worse? Would it help the victims who were giving evidence at the trials or make it worse for them if they had to go through the court ordeal again as a result of his actions? Would it help or hinder the problem if subsequent and linked trials were impacted negatively by his actions? Would it be better if some of the victims (who *could* be family members) were named as a result of his actions? Would it be good if innocent men were found guilty after he influenced the members of the jury by broadcasting like he illegally did?

What a lot of Tommy Robinson’s supporters fail to grasp is that it’s both perfectly possible and perfectly reasonable to loathe the actions of Tommy Robinson and also be 100% against the perpetrators of horrific and heinous crimes. It’s not one or the other.

I can’t get my head around the rationale that those who oppose the actions of Tommy Robinson are somehow and somewhat ludicrously seen by his supporters as ‘part of the problem’.

I pointed out it happens in all walks of life and was told I support the child abusers - we seem to brush it under the carpet in our society too

If someone was raising awareness of institutional abuse in only churches would you lose respect for them also? The crime statistics do not lie, the proportion of abusers convicted that were asian was 75% and given asian men only equate to 7.5% of the population I dont think it takes a scientist to understand that theres a cultural issue here. Take a look at some of the asian countries and note how they treat women, many not allowed to vote or drive. We do not want those types of values in our country and, as the evidence suggests, those values are being transfered. This is not irrational fear and raising awareness certainly isn't something to be frowned upon.

Regardless I understand why Tommy Robinson has been sent to prison, there's rules in place surrounding court cases and breaching those rules is an offence by law. Many see it as an infringement on free speech hence the backlash but free speech is not something we have in the UK, and everyone just accepts it.

Not sure where you are coming from with this post. Do you think Robinson's playground antics should have been allowed on the basis of "free speech", even if this jeopardised the trial?

You have to be careful with your use of statistics there, stop confusing causality with commonality, and stop using ones with no actual substance. :)

Asian men might now equate to 7.5% of the male UK population (latest figures I can find are Asians make up 6.92% of the UK population at the 2011 census), but that includes Indian and Chinese as well as those from Islamic countries (Pakistan and Bangladesh are the largest). The largest group of those might be Muslim, but a significant group are Hindu, Buddhist and Sikh, who have a completely different cultural and societal outlook. You will also find that second and third generation immigrants have different views to newer immigrants.

Now, if 75% of abusers convicted are Asian (someone quoted 80% on the other thread), what is the basis for that statistic? The Ministry of Justice publish crime statistics, but do not list the number of child sexual abusers in their statistics (they do publish sexual assault conviction statistics). The Office of National Statistics don't publish them either. So, we don't know how many people were convicted of these crimes in the UK in the last year, neither is there a breakdown between rape and other kinds of sexual assault within those categories or a breakdown by ethnic origin.

The Ministry of Justice did publish figures on Race, which showed Asians committing roughly 8% of crime, a larger proportion than the population, but less than that committed by the Black population. Asian's are statistically more likely to be convicted than other ethnic groups for sexual offences, but again, white people make up over 80% of those convicted.

You could argue that the statistics are skewed by a relatively small number of perpetrators having a large number of victims, but so do many of the infamous paedophiles of any ethnic origin.

In terms of crime it is also a red herring to blame a particular society.

Black and Asian people tend to live in poverty as they don’t get the same chances as white people, therefore have a higher propensity to commit crime.

I can guarantee if white people were made to live in abject poverty in this country and have no life and career prospects they would act in the same way.

The thing that pisses me off is that he'll ultimately sell more books by doing time, because the idiots of this country will want to read about his "struggle" and how persecuted he was by all these strange looking non-white people whilst inside.

I think he knows exactly what he's doing and that's what makes him more dangerous.

He questions every aspect the religion so he doesn't just concentrate on abuse It's an attack on Islam as well. He's like a stuck record.

As for the abuse statistics you quote they aren't to be taken at face value even CEOP that carried that out said the same. The 75% you quote is for group 1 abuse - abuse of vulnerable children and those that don't act alone.

In Group 2 - where the people were long standing offenders - interested in their victims because they were white - figures show they were 100% white. This is the most common type of abuse.

Many have just clung onto that 75% to figure- might be advisable for them to read the whole report.

People are saying what tommy Robinson did risked the trail collapsing but he only read out what was publicly Available on the internet and also on the courts website. Like him or hate him the reason I watch his videos is that he reports stuff that’s going off in the country. The grooming gang issues that’s happening around the country aren’t being shown on the news or in the newspaper, the riots and radicalisation in prisons aren’t being mentioned in the newspapers. This country’s ****** and he does seem to be the only one who’s reporting he issues. I honestly don’t understand how if you appear to side tommy Robinson’s views your classes as a thug / racist . The fact as well that what’s happened to him isn’t shown on news or the newspapers is a joke - another reason why I won’t buy a newspaper anymore

I'm gonna stop posting about this idiot, because I have better things to do. Can anyone who seriously wants to stop paedophiles look at helping the police to prosecute them.

Barnsley is a town that I'm proud of & racist lovely people can get the **** out of my town.
