I backed him all the way while he was here, not now not after how he left.
Looking at it now in the cold light of day, if he was an unknown looking at his record immediately before he left and his time at Leeds, would anybody on here want him.
I would like one of the young up and coming ambitious managers , just hope we don’t go for somebody like Mcann who has been sacked for not being up to it.
Idothink it’s native the at the club seem to be going about it, it’s like they think anybody good will hang around waiting!

I reckon he was on around 10k at Leeds . They will either pay him a lump sum of say 100k compensation or continue paying his wage until he finds another job .

Doubt he wanted to play himself. Although he would have been better than Thiam.

I think anyone could have been better than Thiam. Even the Brek Shea’s of the footballing stratosphere...

He didn't last as has I thought he would. I gave him to Christmas. I'm sure he made a £ or ££ to make his trip up North worthwhile. He will easily find a job in the lower leagues. But please not with us.

He did bring some in that summer- we lost the likes of Fletcher, Brownhill, Williams - that's a quarter of a team that needed replacing- add Mawson into the mix and that's a third of the team.

He couldn't get out of Oakwell quick enough.

His record prior to leaving was abysmal.

His record at Leeds has been abysmal.

If he’d been at another team and achieved the same then went to Leeds , imo we’d have approved his appointment.
I think he’d do a good job in league one and the experience he’s gained in the championship would imo be a good advantage . Although I’d say no now because of all the hostility and vitriol he’d receive from some sections of the support which is no good for players morale

It's not so much he left for Leeds with me...let's be honest how can you blame him....it's because of his poor record and failure to recruit the right players to replace the ones that left. He was Flicker 2, believed in his own hype and that he could coach players to play how he wanted, rather than recruit plyers that fit how he wanted to play. We also need to stop loaning young players from other clubs.....there is no benefit to us and we have an academy. For example Adeboyejo should have been in the squad and not Ugbo. He plays Jared Bird against Tottenham and he plays well, then sends him out on loan when we don't have any other disciplined midfielders. Ends up having to play Moncur and Mallan in midfield against Villa. He persevered with Davies and failed to bring in anyone decent to replace or challenge him. In other words, he lost the plot. Yes, he lost players but so did Brentford but they replaced them with players that fit into their way of playing.

Are you paul heckingbottom?? But in all seriousness the only reason we stayed out of the relegation zone is because somehow other teams were even worse than us..... Then teams around us started to pick up points

I bet Leeds still appoint a manager before we do.

Yep, and it'll shatter all our dreams of appointing Mick McCarthy when it's him who Leeds appoint.

Quite possibly, they clearly have a well thought out and successful strategy where managerial appointments are concerned.
