.......... the club has not progressed from the Patrick Cryne era.

The new owners and GG must realise this.

The owners plan is ambitious, but it'l take many years. It won' happen over night.

How can you make a judgement until you know who the new coach , irrespective of where he has come from ? It is the same with players , some right them off wrongly because they come from a lower league . Whoever gets the job should be given time & not pre judged .

I hope it's not THAT many years. Those of us who've been watching since the sixties have got certain time constraints!

We got our managers from lower leagues - and we recruited ALL our players from lower leagues because of one thing - Patrick Cryne had relatively no money.
All the names for potential manager that have been banded about on here in this last 5 weeks belong in the Patrick Cryne era.
Surely we have moved on from that now ???

Yes we've moved on back to division 1 where SCMP bites very very hard. And our new owners are very very very rich. Very very rich people either throw money around like confetti for vanity purposes.... or they want to make even more.

They've not done the first yet and haven't outlined any plan at all that's been shared with the fans.

Maybe whats happened at Nice in their second season gives hints?

I want to see a manager first of all, not this coach garbage. And somebody who has a good record in and a good knowledge of Lg One is important.
The only time Id prefer a Lg Two manager is if the choice came down to that or another terrible unknown Mr Nando like Jose.

Fook me YN don’t try to show any ambition on here , we’re only little Barnsley after all . A small club stuck in the last century ahhhh that’s better , some fans just aren’t comfortable about raising your expectations . I want to see one thing , progression ! On and off the pitch , we were always hamstrung by the fact PC had more love for the club than available finance , now that’s no longer an issue what’s to stop us progressing ?

Completely factually incorrect, but you carry on.

Did you not hear the press conference where the new owners stated they bought the club because of the way it was run?

Not to mention the fact that we're now in League 1, with SCMP restrictions.

What does that mean to you - ‘bought the club because of the way it was run‘?
    Because to me this means:

    1) Wi not up tut ballax in debt like many other clubs like Bolton.
    2) We recruit players in budget that we can develop.

That was carried out under someone who had personal wealth of £70 million.
We now have owners with combined wealth of £15 Billion - so hopefully they will cut the cloth accordingly.

And no - I don’t want to see a Wolves scenario - but I would like to see Barnsley being more competitive and NOT having to constantly look around the bargain basement.
And that starts with one of the most important appointments (other being CEO) at the club
    THE TEAM MANAGER.

In other words - if there’s any money to be spent then it needs to be spent on attracting the right manager.

    What is that plan ???
Why should someone on here know of the plan - mention the plan - but not willing to explain that plan.

    So it’s either:
You either know foooking nowt about the plan.
    OR
You are playing the game regularly seen in school playgrounds ‘l know something you don’t know’.

You do realise what person wealth means, don't you?

That includes the price of the shares that they have in god knows how many companies.

They might well have less dispensable wealth than Patrick Cryne did. It's unlikely, I agree, but it's possible.

They're not going to put millions into the club, the wealth of the owners is not the same as the wealth of the club.

I suggest you research SCMP. We cant go blowing money this season, be that on a manager or otherwise.

You're just making yourself look stupid, and despite popular opinion, I actually don't think you are. You just do your best to look it.

It does get a tad irritating seeing the exact same statement posted in literally dozens of different threads, Nudge.

We're all entitled to our opinions but we don't need to constantly reread the same opinion that:

    - Everything is quiet in the media because we're getting a foreign manager.

    - The owners have a combined wealth of 15 BILLION etc. etc.

It's just completely unnecessary. I get the feeling this isn't a new thing?
