Yep, definitely. I've had 9 jobs with 4 hospitals/private health since qualifying in 1995, regret taking 2 of them, with hindsight. But didn't think twice at the time.

I had six different jobs in my career and four of those moves were motivated by the need to earn extra
money. My first job involved moving away from home . Unfortunately my Dad was taken ill and I came home to help look after him, my Mum and Sister. Only job I could get was in a factory on shift work and although I hated it, I stuck it for four years. After my Dad died I went into Local Government and eventually served various Authorities and Organisations for the remainder of the time. The only job during my Public Service I detested was as a Finance Officer at a Mature Teachers Training College in Doncaster. I have never met as many people like Lecturers, Office Staff etc, so far up their own ar*es as I did, the single year I spent there. Truly awful people some of them. I truly hated every single day I worked there and was relieved when I found a job elsewhere.

Not so much as changed but my first job. Back in the late 70's after leaving school 2 - Corbyn type A Levels under my arm (that's both graded E for the uninitiated)

I had countless interviews but without success until I got offered (within a week or so)

    Trainee accountant at Birdwell
Clerk in Sheffield NCB Pensions office
Civil Service Job in Doncaster (HMRC or whatever it was called way back when)
Cost Clerk at South Yorks NCB HQ in Manvers

I took the latter - had an OK career thereafter - even after the demise of the Coal Industry (yes I was proud to be ou all year long) working for three High St. banks

But still, after all these years, I wonder what would have happened if I had joined the Civil Service.................

One thing that did rankle me was the fact that I would have had to sign the Official Secrets Act

I've certainly made career moves that have involved losing my house & most of my possessions & my girlfriend.

    Not regretted them too much.

Yes worked for a small food wholesaler in tinsley Sheffield the job and boss was fantastic but it wasn’t the best paid job
Got poached by a nationwide pasty firm doing van sales 6k extra a year in salary is what they didn’t tell was I would have to sell products containing pork in and around dewsbury batley Bradford
I learnt my lesson then that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side
Worst mistake of my working life was leaving that job

I’ve hated all my jobs for different reasons
    Nude model photographer-long hours
    F1 driver-too much travelling
    Sunbed and beer tester-too sunny
    Dolphin trainer-too squeaky
I’m even getting bored at the minute handrearing baby chimps.

Time for glasses I think, thought you’d put hand drying chimps , which would have been a great gig to get
