I would rather we got a head coach who has a recent history in the past eighteen months or so of winning matches on a regular basis.

Since the beginning of February 2017, Heckingbottom won 11 out of 60 games with both us and Leeds. Speaks volumes about his ability where I’m from...

Heckingbottom sacked, we're in league 1 and his home town hates him. The whole debacle has been a mess.

Anybody in his home town who actively, genuinely hates him needs to have a very serious word with themselves.
Granted last season was a mess though.

Left the club he supposibly supports at a crucial time and gives no statement to the fans saying thankyou for the support but the offer was too good to turn down. He knew about it beforehand as well, gave the club no indication.

Well fair enough. The whole departure thing was unsavoury. I'd have liked it better handled on all sides but, as always, we're not privy to the whole story.

I wonder if we ever will be? I'm convinced that there was little love between PC and PH, especially after the debacle that was early 2017.

Couldnt agree more. A sad conclusion to a very promising situation in December/January 2017. The hatred is just barmy, hes a good bloke, loves his hometown and made A footballing decision that ended up bad for all parties concerned really. But we move on, without him, with this lot in charge who the hell knows where, but we do anyway.

The only thing we know for sure is that the club offered him a new contract which he accepted & signed , so it would be strange if they had any part in him leaving

He signed a new contract they'd given him 2 days before he left, so I'm not sure that could be left at the club's door.

I can see all the arguments regarding the uncertainties of the new ownership, the selling of players & whatever, but the fact is he made a big thing about being a Barnsley lad & the fact that half of his village of Royston was Leeds fans & how much he liked putting them down. He claimed the signings in the summer were approved by him. If that was the case it was poor judgement to do so.

For me he walked because he thought we were going down & for the money.
I realised he spouted as much bullsh!t as some previous managers after the "iron deficiency" debacle.
It would be a massive mistake taking him back. The club needs some unity & stability under the new owners.
Half of us at least clearly would not back the decision.

Sorry, as I said before he's not "one of our own" any more, that's what happens when you betray a fanbase that backed you because of your local connections. I stuck behind him all the time he was here. When he left, he left the club in a bad way & we, as fans are now looking at a L1 team.
If he was reappointed I doubt if I'd go down this season coming.
