I can’t understand people getting het up about the new head coach appointment. He’ll only be here 12 months 18 at most, if he’s any good he’ll be off to a bigger better club that’s spending money, if he’s rubbish he’ll be sacked, ether way his chances of actually achieving something of note are really slim, deep down we all know this, so why get so wind up by it, take it with a pinch of salt, because it’ll not be long until the next time we’re looking for a new manager and you’ll be blowing a gasket again, just chill art.
Promotion to the Premier League, winning the EFL Cup, winning two play off finals, the Glavin team, an FA Cup semi final. It was all s***e. I really wish we hadn't bothered. We knew what would happen.
So what we saying 25 decent Seasons out of 125 ? . If you’re not used to us being primarily ***** then you must be at school still.
I am used to us being mostly run of the mill. It's been the story of BFC since we were formed. It's not exactly a shock when our fortunes fluctuate. It staggers me that people seem constantly enraged by our exposure to the downs as well as the ups of sport.
Not really. I'm 40, and have been watching us for 30 of those years. In that time, I've seen us be promoted to and play in the Premier League, win two playoff finals and lose one more, reach an FA Cup semi final knocking out two of the best teams in Europe along the way. I've also seen some exceptionally entertaining sides who didn't quite take us to the top division under Allan Clarke and Mel Machin. Teams which contained truly fantastic players such as David Currie, Paul Futcher John Beresford, Mal Shotton, Mark Smith, Carl Tiler, Gerry Taggart, Gary Fleming, Gwynn Thomas, Steve Cooper and others. I've seen Mason Holgate, John Stones, Craig Hignett, Jan Fjortoft, Ashley Ward, David Watson, Jack Butland, Arjan de Zeeuw and Ricardo Vaz Te to name just a few more wonderfully talented footballers play for Barnsley. I am not still at school.
I agre with that Ripper, but reading a lot of these posts this guy has no experience of the first division so what were they supposed to do,hire a manager who fits the bill get promoted sack him then hire a manager with championship experience and if we get promoted again hire a manager with premiership experience. You can’t make it up.Good job Eddi Howe and Bournemouth had good owners.
