Villa won’t go under. There are already parties circling to buy the club for a reported £75m. They have assets that can be sold to pay off their creditors, even if it meant fielding youth players. What may happen is they get a points deduction, drop down the leagues like Pompey/Coventry and then have to build back up. It really depends just how little money Xia can find. And I remember some of our posters holding Xia up as the poster boy for owning a football club......
Who did that? I can only remember him being pointed at as a laughing stock/ embarrassment with his tweets
so does anyone know if we would be re-instated to the championship if they do go under. I do not think it will happen but they never thought Rangers would go under did they.
The only time a club was relegated due to financial irregularities in recent times (Swindon Town in 1990), the club that took their place in Division 1, as was, was Sunderland, who they'd beaten in the Play Off Final. There was no reprieve for the relegated clubs.
I remember plenty mocking him for his daft tweets, and plenty thinking he would be a disaster. And a few who suggested they would rather an owner who “put his money” into the club. As it turns out it may not be all it seems.... you’ll still find them. Criticising our former owner who rescued us from administration, and probably, in due course, our current owners if they don’t play roulette with our future. Suppose Nudger would be happy. As he communicates with the fans. That’s the most important thing!
I reckon it should be a playoff between the top placed relegated club and the losing playoff finalist.
All footballing debts must be paid in full. That includes all outstanding transfer fees and player wages. Think the area we may miss out on is any sell on clauses if they wind up the existing club and start a new one.
Not a chance in hell of them going under. I know it happened at Rangers, but Villa are arguably one of the top dozen or so supported clubs in England. They will need to cut their cloth a bit & shed a few bigger names. I'm sure there will be plenty of takers, they have essentially a good squad.
Assets such as land both stadium and training ground, also player registrations will be held by them. Footballing debts are the 1st thing that gets paid off, so well before it gets to those we'll be paid.
Me too , all that ******** on Twitter 1+1=3 n all that when he was going to sign Conor and James Bree . Everybody was taking the piss . There’s one thing for certain Mr Lee and co have more class and much more Wonga than that pillock
It will be interesting to see how potato head copes next season with a significantly reduced budget - if he's still there of course.
