Not sure but that's possibly the longest deal we've offered someone for some time. Which may be, of course, why some managers / coaches that we've been connected to in the past has turned us down (assuming that's right) Club : " Well sir, we'd like to offer you the job but it's only on a season by season deal. You'll have to work with the players that your got, that's right, we did sell our best players last term and don't think there's a shed load of cash for new ones either; we're skint" Candidate : "Really? then shove it up your arse then"
Also, average gate at Hanover is just a tad over 40,000. The third division is going to seem like a library
It's good to see more confidence put in the person in charge. It's better than rolling contracts or Morias with his relegation release clause. If he's bad he won't cost much to pay off. If we are up there towards the end of the year we should look to extend his deal. I wouldn't want to risk losing the head coach that got us promoted because he then only had a year left on his contract. If we get promoted next summer will be another big one and we wouldn't want distractions. I wonder if the club asked for a third year in our favour should we choose to take it and he turned down it.
We gave Morais a 1 1/2 year deal, but with a relegation clause. I wonder if they'll have a performance clause in this contract as well for the end of the season.
I would be amazed if there aren’t any break clauses. Wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t a break option if we don’t make the playoffs and there will certainly be one if we get relegated again
Not sure how you’ve come to that conclusion tbh . Last few have been on one year rolling contracts which are more stable than fixed terms really . The head coach always has a year left on their contract that way !
I agree with this. If we finish top six but don't go up, he'll get another go. If we miss the play-offs, he's done for.
Only 2 managers have lasted 2 years this century. Heckingbottom (just) and Davey 2.5 years. We have to,go back to Wilson's 1st spell for the next one.
