The Labour position seems to be attack the government and dodge what they would do. It feels very extremely empty and the sort of politics that doesn't give hope or option to a country when a large part of it so desperately wants that choice.

Around 50% of the population pro European without a logical home to vote. The issue for Labour though is they know many of their "heartlands" voted Brexit and should they take a pro EU stance (not something that seems to come easily to Corbyn and co) that alienates a bedrock of support.

It's all a mess, the EU vote split parties, families and a country. And I don't think that will be forgotten for a generation.

Some Tories have tabled that (EFTA/EEA) as an amendment, but I imagine the Labour Front bench can't bring themselves to support it ?

Really disappointed in the lack of understanding they all have - Stephen Kinnock's an honourable exception

I think they have it nearly right given our divided we are as a nation. If they backed remaining in the SM and membership of efta/EEA you couldn’t really say they were out of step with the public.

I just find it disappointing they have no real stance. "Holding the government to account"... its like the Kinnock era where you just bash tories but don't propose a solution to anything.

Whilst I agree with the above...Corbyn, Dennis Skinner and Mick Cash all want out....hardly the kind of people to want to look after the elites?

The problem with a big economic hit would be a crash in house prices puting a massive chunk of the young in negative equity and make it difficult to sell up and move. If no deal is looking likely by autumn it would probably beat any adjustment...

To be fair that is the role for an opposition party with 4 years to go before an election. The last Labour manifesto was a pretty good stab at trying to address the causes of Brexit and provide some solutions.

No it spiked dramatically after then ref and is still above pre ref levels. Travelling down to London a lot there is a lot more casual racism around I mean you expect it in Barnsley but it’s not summat I’d seem much of before in central london. the Ref has embolden racism. It’s not a pretty thing to admit and maybe it’s summat we need to go through but it’s definitely there.

Corbyn has definitely changed his mind and wanted us to remain. He is still rightly considered concerned about protectionism but as the U.K. has gone to the rightf he clearly values Eu protections on workers rights. I share a lot of Cash and Skinners views. They won’t be forming the post Brexit politic. The elites will be first stop flog the NHS off.

The point is its returning to normal...the level was almost back to normal when the later terror attacks occurred and looks to be falling steadily when the graph ends.

If Corbyn has changed his mind he isn't showing it.

So the left wing are happy being governed by an unelected European government. Doesn’t seem very left wing to me.

So they have loads in common... they will be able to converse and trade quite well then. I’m glad we agree.

I disagree, especially at a time of such instability with such an incompetent regime at each others throats. But then, you know my view about the two "mainstream parties", and how unelectable they both are in my eyes. Just personally, if it were me, i'd actually stick my neck out and be something more than a flimsy heckler. Grow a pair, state your case, people may like it.

The only positive things I can say about Brexit are as follows:

    1. No TTIP
    2. Being 53 & drinking way too much & hence, probably not living long enough to see us going back to the Victorian era on work practices.
(My nephew would make a great chimney sweep).
    3. In another 3 years Gove, Johnson & Farage tarred & feathered by a follow up organisation to the EDL, for not expelling all the immigrants.
    4. We will be able to have the old blue passport, that nobody under 50 remembers.
    5. We can **** off the Eurovision Song Contest

Sounds like a great credible well written non biased article. I believe everything I read in articles too. A few months ago I read that a Portuguese fella was the saviour of our club...

So instead you prefer being governed by Tory ministers who weren’t elected and can’t be voted out... good of you, thinking about us minions. Who in your opinion will be worse off. I’m terrified now.
