Yet that the owners are to improve matchday experience?? Surely if they are to do so then some sort of plans are in place?
I'm an old geezer so perhaps my views on the matchday experience aren't that valid. I know I'm a dinosaur in many ways, but we all get old one day. The matchday experience for me starts with meeting up with my friends, some of whom date from Primary school 60-odd years ago, for some banter and perhaps a pint (if there's any beer). The only other thing that matters is the result. Nice to see some good football, but I'll take a result any day over a performance. The post-match experience is going home with a glow at the result and getting slowly tanked over a good dinner. Not many good experiences last season, then. Owners, if you address this aspect (plus a supply of beer) you will satisfy a good proportion of the clients.
All they have to do really is make refreshments cheaper and employ more catering staff, and paint the walls.
See I’m a young (ish) guy who goes to the games with my grandad and younger brother. Like yourself, the result definitely has the greatest impact on the matchday experience for me. I’m not really fussed about half time entertainment or stuff going on beforehand, if we win, I go home happy.
I found it interesting to read the SLO say that the Supporters Trust were in charge of the HT entertainment. Overhauling that would be a terrific start as at present it’s a horribly tedious 15 minute interval.
They are going to have to spend some money on it, its not something thats already there and we need to change.
Pre match and half time entertainment, not that fussed. Clean up the bird *****, give the place a spit, polish and lick of paint. I’d say use some of the mass of space in the east stand concourse to put more refreshment outlets in, staff them and stock it with quality fodder reasonably priced - though they can’t really risk doing that as they might not increase sales enough to cover the costs
Two things I'd like to see or have in place. Bigger screen for replays, score updates, ticket and match information and other advertising. WiFi - and this is for all grounds, not just Oakwell. I can never get online in football grounds. If it's possible to improve that, it would be great.
Win, laik well, £2 a pint/can/burger/pie and more staff at half time. That’d do. If I’m being greedy I’d request a standing area and a separate moaning section for the ***** who seem to impose their misery on the rest of us.
