Whats his coaching philosophy? Dont worry kids just get a nice contract somewhere for lots of money and piss it all up the wall. wasted talent
He's going to sit at home Monday to Wednesday, turn up for 2 minutes on a Thursday afternoon where amazes everyone with his coaching knowledge and then piss off home again for the rest of the week
I honestly believe that he could’ve been one of the greats of the modern game had he simply applied his undoubted talent more constructively. He’s the best technical player that I’ve ever seen in a Reds shirt. His touch, vision and spacial awareness was unbelievable. There are so many other plays with less ability who’ve had exceptional careers. I wish him all the best as I certainly enjoyed watching him in his short spell here.
One of my all-time favourite Barnsley players. Two minutes of Paddy's magic was worth more to me than two years of some other less talented individuals. I might be in a minority with my views, but I don't care. Even Lionel Messi was a huge fan of him!
Just glad he doesn't play for us anymore. His goal against Boro & his goal against Brighton were very good but that is where it ends. Lazy, unfit, greedy, no pace, no guile. Not to mention he lost the ball more often than not . Awful player for Barnsley F.C slowed down any positive moves did nothing for the team.
Loved watching paddy. Shame we didn't have him here longer and in a season when we weren't battling relegation.
Brilliant player. Good light a spark on a dark evening. One of the most talented players I’ve seen in the flesh. Hope he does well.
The definition of guile is to have a sly or cunning intelligence. That’s PM all over. Unbelievable touch, vision, anticipation, the list goes on. Technically he’s phenomenal, it’s the physical aspect and tactical discipline that let him down, unfortunately.
Brilliant player but we only saw very brief glimpses of his talent. The majority of time he was nothing but a passenger. It was so frustrating that he had so much ability but just didn't have the work ethic to match.
Hahahahahahahahahaha and for good measure ......ha. As my old physics teacher said in response to my 8% exam result “ not worthy of comment lad.”
The sort of player we pay our good money to watch and marvel at his skills some occasions. Sadly too many days when he ran down blind alleys and strolled back hands on hips, whilst our opponents made the most of it. Released a year early in his final contract with Luton in L2. An enigma.
Since coming back to Ireland he's played for Glenavon and Finn Harps and pulled trees up at neither. I've watched football north and south of the border here and believe me, it's not good. A lad on loan from Oldham is currently one of the top scorers in the LOI with 10 in 13. McCourt has the ability to have ripped up either league. He didn't. It's a huge shame, he should have had a glittering career.
Obviously he was a massive talent but I’ve got no time for him. I don’t expect flair players to work as hard as more defensive minded players but they’ve got to at least give the team a shape. Far more effective players like Hammill & Vaz Te at least got back into position & worked a bit for the team. The amount of times Dawson or Perkins would have to sprint out to the wing to cover for him was ridiculous & it’d leave massive gaps. I can’t understand the mentality to not even try when relegations a possibility & people can lose jobs. I think he just got too used to the role he had Celtic, mainly coming off the bench when games were already won, sauntering about with no pressure on him.
