Our three lads have all given me cards and gifts to mark Father's Day. I have a reputation for not being up on all things relating to Computers, whilst all three sons use them in their everyday business lives. On the front of one card it says, "Fathers Day card and Gift in One."! It offers two hours of Technical support and the voucher reads " 120 minutes of free non- judgemental support on any computer, phone or tablet. After all Dad, you taught me how to use a spoon.!" Really tickled me that. Anyone else get a card that made them laugh.?
I got one titled, 'To a football crazy dad.' It is one of the Ladybird for Grown-Ups series. I don't think that I should break the copyright, but one of the inserts reads, 'Football fans may look complicated, but in fact they are very simple. They run on burgers, beer and frustration.' There are a whole load of other funnies down the left page as well. Really amusing, but I won't reveal them all and you will just have to encourage your nearest and dearest to send you one for Father's Day next year. It says on the back that other titles available are 'The Away Trip,' The Mascot' and '4-4-2.'
One of mine reads. DAD. Just because you wiped my stinky arse, doesn't mean I am going to do same for you when you get old and **** yourself. Really touched that he thinks I'm not old at 61. Bless his little socks.
My favourite one is the card I received from my Granddaughter, Amara. It features a photograph of her topless, laid on the settee, watching television. The comment on it says "Following the trend set by Granddad!"
