"EFL Chief Executive, Shaun Harvey, said: “Feedback from all levels of the game is indicating that the competition is starting to reap the benefits that we all envisaged at the outset of the revamp and I’m confident the format will continue to prosper with increasing support from Clubs and their fans." Really!
EFL talking rubbish again. The crowds last season would indicate the polar opposite of what they are trying to claim.
'All levels of the game' translates to 'Indonesian media company bosses' in Shaunglish. I will be boycotting it and I hope many fellow Reds follow suit. Even those who haven't missed a match in X years have to question whether they should be considered first team matches.
I've only ever been to one game in the competition and that was the final. So I can't really boycott it as I never went.
Same for me too - and I wont go to any games next season, maybe , just maybe if we reach the final again I will consider it but I'll worry about that if we get there
I went to the JPT games, but they've ruined it now so they can get stuffed. I wouldn't even bother with the final if we got there. It's not that often fans really get chance to make their feelings known, but this is one of them.
Do we get in free like other U21 competitions. If so I will go, otherwise I aint paying for the privilege of helping the rich prem clubs develop their kids.
Same for me as for others - the only JPT I ever went to was the final. If we reached the final of the Checkatrade I would go, unless it is against an under 21 side. Then I would boycott it. I have no interest in watching Barnsley play some under 21 side, even at Wembley.
Wouldn't mind another run in it to be fair, think it was actually a big benefit to us in our promotion season.
I go to every single home game without fail, and my fair share of aways. I ain't going to any of the Checkatrade matches, though. If we win it, I won't be there.
I shall ignore this competition. I think Barnsley should but their youngsters same as the Premier clubs.
I loved us beating Oxford to lift a trophy. To do it again we'd still have to get the better of all the other L1 and L2 teams. I'd love to see Oakwell totally empty for any game against an U23 team though.
