I'm not protecting him at all, I'm simply saying that I don't believe his tweet was intentionally racist. I believe he thought it was funny and didnt give the wider connotations a second thought. I bet you could find similar jokes hundreds, if not thousands of times on social media but because they're not posted by somebody famous they don't even register. His post was crass and not funny - I have conceded that point already. All I am saying is that I don't for one second believe he is racist or that he intended his post to be racist.
Quiet word? I bet you would. You would probably be called a pompous get and told to shut the **** up yourself.
Maybe. But once they'd got that out of their system they probably wouldn't come back, and everybody else would have a much better environment in which to enjoy themselves. Call it taking one for the team.
I agree it wasn't racist. It was in very poor taste though. If you have a large number of followers on social media it is wise to think about what you are posting. How much money he has doesn't come into it for me. I just find the bloke objectionable these days. He was a very shroud entrepreneur back in the day and I used to quite like him when he was chairman of Spurs.
