Paper thin loyalty? Why don't you go sit on an upturned milking stool? I bet you would really love it. Fortunately my loyalty to the club comes after my loyalty to my principles. I will not pay the same money for League 1 football as I would have done for Championship football. The last time we got relegated it was different, we went with a fight. This time we always looked like going down. BAD PLAYERS, BAD MANAGERS, NO LEADERSHIP. next to nothing in the way of communication coming from Mr. Ganaye. Its a shambles top to bottom.

Upturned milking stool??? What are you on about? Is that another childish insult?
It seems you simply view BFC as a product. If the quality (in your opinion) waivers you refuse to buy it. Fair enough. That makes you a consumer though. Not a supporter.

You're correct in one thing. This is an internet message board. I took issue with what you posted on it. It seems you want the right to post whatever you like but are too precious to have it challenged.

I would just like to apologise to @churtonred and @OnGoingCloud1887 . The stuff that I posted yesterday was totally out of order. I had had some bad news (in my personal life) and for whatever reason, I took it out on the message board and specifically the two posters above.

    My apologies.

I will ofcorse be attending this season as frankly, I cannot help myself. I only want the best for my club as we all do, it appears I let my emotions get the better of me.

    Again, apologies.

Fair do's - hope your personal situation gets resolved positively.

There have been more than enough times over event years when I have questioned my sanity in retaining my season ticket. At the end of the day Barnsley are my club and while I can afford to I will be a season ticket holder. This does not make me a 'better fan' or a 'happy clapper' I hasten to add, merely a supporter and consumer of all things BFC.

I do wonder how some of these younger posters would have coped with watching Jim Iley’s team!

I think I can safely say you're not the type of 'supporter' I am.

In fact, you migt be better off watching football of a better quality in a higher league, one where they strive for excellence so much they get new managers in every few weeks.

Bugger off to Leeds or Wednesday please.

No, what you did was start by name calling and lumping people into categories, then get annoyed when people got offended.

How many of you can remember trips to Bradford Park Avenue, Workington, Barrow, Darlington, Halifax and 22 years spent in Divisions 3 and 4? Things have been much worse than they are now.

or even worse John McSeveneys team which was preceeded it - to bring our an old classic everyone thought we were called BarnsleyNill in those days :) Ileys team was an improvement ( but still worse by a distance than anything that followed since 1979)

Absolutely no problem. We all have bad days and bad news and I sound off as much as anyone. Hope things sort themselves out for you.

According to the Chron our new boss was at Oakwell yesterday to meet the staff and will
be meeting the players on Monday after studying them on video tapes that the Club provided
him with. We were told, that during his time at Hannover, he used Gegenpress ( in English it means
" pressing against" apparently) and he could well try to adopt that method of play at Oakwell.
From what I've read, two essential elements are required to be able to play the system effectively.
    1. Stamina- All members of the squad have to have the ability to play at pace for a full ninety minutes.
    2. Technical ability- because the strategy involves players needing to tackle to regain possession, they
must have the ability to use the ball intelligently once they regain it.
In a nutshell, you have to be able to play a hard running pressing game ensuring you close your opponent down
quickly enough to deny them minimum time on the ball.
After viewing the tapes Herr Stendel must feel that we need to add to what we've already got, as it's mooted
his first signing will be joining us next week. Question is out of the retained players, how many of them have
the stamina and technical ability to be able to execute the gegenpress method of play successfully.? I'd be very interested to hear everyone's views. Excluding keepers and those yet to accept new offers ( Ben Williams, Romal Palmer, Will Smith, Amir
Berkovits, Cameron Simpson and Louis Wardle) our contracted players are:
Right back-Jason McCarthy, Dimitri Cavare. Left back- Zeki Fryers, Daniel Pinillos.
Centre back- Adam Jackson, Liam Lindsay, Ethan Pinnock, Matty Pearson.
Central Mid- Brad Potts, George Moncur, Stevie Mallan, Alex Mowatt, Cameron McGeehan, Jared Bird.
Wingers- Ryan Hedges, Lloyd Isgrove, Dylan Mottley-Henry.
Strikers- Mamadou Thiam, Tom Bradshaw, Kieffer Moore, Jacob Brown and Victor Adeboyejo.

Felt sorry for Jim. He had players sold as he was building teams, and in the end applied and go the Managers job at Blackburn Rovers.
