The thing that makes me sick about patronising, know it all pseudo intellectuals is their childish compulsion to portray all those with a different point of way as bigots and or idiots. My disquiet at the appointment of another foreign manager derives not from the very fact of his nationality but from his unfamiliarity with English football, his limited, unimpressive record, potential issues of communication and the fact that we have just been down this road with disastrous consequences. All this on top of the fact that there was an outstanding local candidate it seems we never even approached. So please do save your tedious blather for the poor the poor sods who have the misfortune of making your acquaintance in Wetherspoons. No wonder their mouths were agape listening to your peurile prattle.
I’m not aware of the evidential basis for your summary, still less that those facts were proved against him. Acccepting for argunent’s sake that they were, I suppose it comes down to whether or not you believe in giving people second chances. Having worked 25 years in the criminal justice system, I certainly do.
When David Wagner went to Huddersfield he had a lower win % in a much lower division of German football than Stendel as the only management on his CV.. But don't let that stop you (not that it would). As for 'outstanding local candidate' PAH! The guy that can't get up to a 28% win ratio at 2 different clubs is that? P.s. I am aware you appear to have word of the day toilet paper for 'prattling' together excuses, but 'puerile' is the word that you're trying to use there, for future information.
Wasn't he part of the coaching staff that saw Chesterfield relegated to the conference - hardly a roaring success either is he?
He wasn't convicted of anything. He had an internal disciplinary after media allegations of corruption and was sacked for "gross misconduct". He would never be allowed to work for Barnsley again.
What's David Wagner got to do with our new manager? Like how you swept 80% of MMs management career under the carpet.
He was saying he doesn't like the new manager because he has no experience of English football, I posed to him that nor did the extremely successful Wagner when he arrived at Huddersfield He was referring to Heckingbottom, not MM.
Patronising to the end. The only problem with being a pedantic smart arse is that you look a right prat if your own house isn’t in order. Given, in the absence of any real argument, you’ve descended to seizing on a typo you might want to check your original diatribe. Ever heard of possessive apostrophes? I’ll explain further if you need help.
Is that what happened? Or is that exactly what you've done, given that you've totally ignored my points. No matter, since this is going nowhere.
Getting somewhere now aren't we. I agree Mick would have been a fantastic appointment, but can't help feel he will have been out of our budget and league if he wanted to come here at all. I expect he's holding out for a Championship club. Not sure I've seen anything official to say he wasn't approached regardless.
Misread that one, I'd have thought Heckys win ratio was nearer 20%. Any new manager is a gamble, mainly because of the lack of patience, even Jose may have scrubbed up given a couple of years. Who knows.
