You mean apart from appoint a really promising young manager and offload a player who didn’t want to be here for a profit and with a decent sell-on clause? We’d be criticised if we HAD done anything before he formally started (changing the team before he even had a chance to look at it etc…) Seems like a case of the club being damned either way. I don’t mind waiting.
Sounds as though we have. According to the Chronicle, Stendels first signing is to be announced next week.
It's open now. The deadline for permanent transfers is six weeks away viz: August 9th after the EFL voted to follow the Premier Leagues decision to close the window before the start of the Premiership season. Loan deals can be done until the end of August with a maximum of five loanees in any match day squad. Stendel is likely to implement a high pressing counter attacking style, so Gauthier has intimated that the Club are prepared to make " radical changes" to the squad to allow that particular format to be adopted.
I mean take an age to appoint some guy who's had about 30 games experience as a manager and still boasts a relegation on his C.V and not much more. Who's the player btw left me slightly baffled by that one
This is that relegation season. He was appointed just following game 28. You can hardly blame him for that. This is the season after. He was sacked on 20th March.
Thanks for that BR. So he took over a side that had lost 13 out of 14 games and produced two wins, two draws and two defeats in the last six games. One of the defeats was against Bayern. I wish we'd appointed him last season instead of Morais.
Stendel doesn’t start until 1st July. Be daft to be signing players without his input. Especially as it’s his counter pressing style we’re suppose to be adopting.
If we do the summer transfer window right, and sign players in time for the first day back, when the cheap lower league ***** we have a tendency to pin our hopes on, turn out to be completely out of their depth and nowhere near good enough, the happy clappers can’t use that all too familiar excuse of wait while next season to judge him when he’s had a preseason.
Is that the same cheap lower league ***** that got us Hourihane and Mawson? You haven’t the first idea about how a football club is run.
It was a genuine question- I thought the window opened on 30th June. You've got to the stage now where you're so sensitive you perceive everything is an attack on the club. If you actually read anything I've posted you would know I am fully behind the new owners. Never mind. It's not as if you contribute to any discussion or create any debate.
For some reason I had it in my mind that it opened on 30th June. Last time we were relegated we didn't do any business until Steele, O'Grady and Cranie had been moved on - I wonder if we have to get a few off the wage bill before we can can bring some in to comply with SCMP?
