Have listened to the Making Obama podcast? It's brilliant. All about his early rise to senator. Fantastic access to all the key people

No one. There was a hung parliament under a flawed system which meant two parties with a significantly lower share of the popular vote, but most seats, were able to form a coalition.

Politics in general isn't about winning and losing. It's about representing the whole of the electorate, regardless of whether they voted for you or not. An attitude of "if you don't like it leave" is spectacularly unhelpful.

I'm not sure you I'll be "fine" Jimmy.

Obviously, I've no idea of your personal circumstances but I'm finding it hard to believe that anyone could be "fine" unless you're a member of the super rich or the establishment.

They're after the Middle classes now and the pensions!
Usually, under these circumstances, there is a case for seeing the Middle class disappear completely until there are only two classes left, rich or poor, nothing in between.
I fear for our pensions in the future, the Tories see pensions as a "benefit" , remember, they want it ALL !
The taking of your home to pay for your social care, more profiteering for them.
A "work until you drop" economy to then be disregarded as a piece of trash.
Your savings dwindling, your money going less and less further whilst everything rises to suit those in control.

    Spending power diminished.
Hard to believe anyone will be "fine" , I wish I shared your optimism

If you're going to debate, then at least be sensible.

You've posted the same thing twice in this thread. Are you going to keep on posting it?

The bloke you're quoting is a provocative activist.

This is a quote he prominently bandies about which he seems to think is full of truth and insight:

" Brexit is not the will of the people, it is the conditioning of the people to believe it is their will"

    Anyone go along with that?

Toby, I'm sorry for offending you by mistakenly posting twice !

I posted the thread for debate.

    It's feasible under this government.
I'm not stating it as fact just as a article for debate, nothing more or less.
Our political views are polar opposites, I find some of the right wing stuff particularly offensive and downright sickening, but a debate is a debate, it's food for thought

I'd put nothing past this government and what they're capable of doing.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist by the way, I just love to read all sides and all scenarios.
Then make my own decisions on what I think.

Because if he does... it’s the end of democracy, and potentially the start of a civil war. The heated debate on here of similar interested people (northern bfc fans) , makes me think that it wouldn’t just happen.

Corbyn can’t ever be in charge, we really would be the whipping boys of the world.

Can someone explain why they wouldn’t want to arrange a deal that suits everyone? I mean they have large investments in this country as well. A lot of that 2.6 is after all from companies based in Europe...

Whilst I don’t fully agree with the original thread. Gun crime in the US can’t be blamed on the Trump idiot. Guns are an American insanity. Reasonable people lose their **** over guns and can argue for and against until the cows come home, a little bit like the Brexit debate over here. No president has, or in the near future will touch the issue.

Fully agree. My point is that Trump, while trying to appear the concerned President has done absolutely nothing to address the issue and is happy to take NRA funding and big them up at their rallies.
Proper gun control is something even the Democrats don't have the appetite for. All a case of putting votes and staying in office ahead of doing the best for the country.
