...who thinks our squad is already pretty strong for League 1 and we're only really going to need one or two names in to challenge at the right end? Our young squad will be a year older this this time around, with a year of Championship experience as a solid foundation, even if the season didn't go as well as we'd hoped. There's a big gulf between the divisions, and I think this same squad if given another shot at the Championship this season under a good manager would stay up. Optimistic for League 1.
No its not just you lad, I agree with you. We could do with two or three as it stands now to be challenging IMO. That figure also depends on how good some of the youth players are we have. I have not watched anything of the U23s for a long long time but know people like Victor scores tonnes in that side so maybe he could be good enough for this league. Same with the young winger Berkovits.
The players looked worse in April and May than they did in August and September - Brentford game aside.
We've thought similar after our previous 2 relegations to this league only to be found wanting. I think the squad needs alot of freshening up.
Don't think this squad is much different to the last relegation one, they only got 2 points more last season.
Major surgery isn't required and a lot of the players should be better for last season's fiasco. We need more passengers out and more quality in particularly at left back, on the wings and we're desperate for a good strong keeper. I'd also think We'll be looking for a couple more bodies up top to give us a chance to change things in different ways.
