I'm hoping he becomes our regular left back now,I know people will think he's too young at 19 but I believe he could. Just my opinion and not a fact.
Never seen him play, but I'm really not a fan Pininllos who is way too slow, and I thought Fryers was very disappointing, so I hope Ben is good enough to make the step up.
You’ve got to think that if he’s wanting first team chances at left back that either Fryers or Pinillos will be off surely?
He was one of a handful who looked good in the 23s. I would say Williams, Wolfe, Mottley-Henry and Brown (along with Bird) have a real chance with the right coaching and given the opportunity to become first team regulars here. Berkovits, if he signs the new contract, is very talented but blows hot and cold. If a decent coach can bring his game on and add consistency he is the most talented player in the 23s in my humble opinion. Hopefully Stendel and Winkler, with their experience in German youth set ups, will be able to get our academy and 23s back on track.
I would have thought strengthening with actual quality rather than extending the contracts of two youth players would have been more important considering we're a month away from the beginning of the season but who am I to judge.
This will have been via a recommendation from Sir Bobby no doubt so good enough for me. Really hope he comes through and becomes a challenger for a first-team berth.
