They defended well and they were a proper team. That's how they got this far. England weren't that much better today!
Yep. Terrible. We're through to the semi finals of the World Cup. We're crying out for something. What about crying out for recognition that we've gone further than we have done for 25+years? That might be a bit too much for those who want to moan about everything.
They were excellent today because the entire team won the game, not just a brilliant performance from one player
Compared with the performance and results of England teams over the last 25 years, they've been impressive. We sadly don't have a god given right to beat other teams. Which is a fact that goes missing quite regularly.
Wow at this thread. Compare this game to the Colombia one, I was so much more relaxed. We controlled it well I thought. After watching us (Barnsley) float corners almost aimlessly in all season it’s great to support a team who are excellent at them.
Some say we weren’t impressive, what is impressive in a game of football then? In my eyes what is impressive is when a team is coached to play in a certain style and the team perform well to that style. That’s what they have done in this tournament and whilst it ain’t a purist move nobody has found an answer to The Love Train. Now that’s impressive!!!!
Not as high up hopefully. otherwise it's 3 pairs of specs - one to read the programme, one to watch the match, and one to cope with the concourse tv up there in the universe.
Well it’s a forum , for people to have a discussion and listen to alternative views . My view is England haven’t played a good team yet ( apart from Belgium , and we got beat) . They’re getting better but still have weak links and I think we’re miles behind France , Croatia etc but we’ll see . Of course this board is renowned for not being open to proper debate , if you don’t follow the popular opinion then it’s fooking good night Vienna ! Still , I won’t change the opinions I have and I wouldn’t expect anybody else to either !
