I am sorry if Ive got this all wrong but I thought this was a football forum and not a gossip column or plane spotting bulletin board for people who have no mates ....come on lets keep to the subject if we wanted to get the gossip or recommend a plumber we would read the chron That rag is full of shiv aswell
For me, as a person who is normally relatively fit but has been housebound for some time waiting for a hip replacement operation, this site has been a veritable lifeline to all things Barnsley FC and a format to enable me to exchange my views on everyday topics with fellow fans, who thankfully and very kindly care to interact with me. If something appears that has no interest for me, I don't read it-simples really.
It's always been about more than football and that's unlikely to change. If you don't like that, don't bother reading. Stop with the name calling though.
To be honest always liked the other threads - what's make this site unique. Some of those 'other' threads have seen people chronicle their fight with cancer, people suffering from depression and problems - it sees people rallying round when others have needed support. Many on here have offered me kind words during dark times - was only reading through the messages i received from people , all strangers, when I was suffering from a breakdown. If you don't like it then take yourself away and find another site that more meets your needs! I for one will not miss the posts
I’ll never stop being grateful to the people on here who responded so kindly when I needed help a couple of years ago. I try and repay it however I can when other people are struggling. There’s some questionable people on here but there’s some damn fine ones too.
It’s not a football forum it’s a community of people who have at least one thing in common. Long may it be so.
Thanks Cambs. I had the op on the 28th June. Getting stronger by the day. Target is to get down to Oakwell as soon as possible into the new season. Looking at some away games as well, which quite frankly twelve months ago, was nigh on an impossibility.
