The Rolling Stones every single time for me. Just some of my reasons: Keef chords/riffs par excellence (although Wilko comes close) Rhythm and Blues - just my kind of music A frontman (did the beatles have a 'frontman')
Both. Both changed things. Both are in my top 5 of the most influential music makers ever. Sinatra Elvis Beatles Rolling Stones David Bowie All popular music can be traced back to these 5.
Definitely The Beatles for me. Apart from a few cracking tunes, I've never really cared that much about the Stones. Perhaps it's an age thing, but the Beatles seem more timeless to me.
Got to be the working class boys for me. Love loads of beatle's songs but only a handful from the stones.
Has to be Stones. Beatles a novelty band - Yellow Submarine? I am the f.cking Walrus? Basically both Mr Blobby songs.
Some people say the Beatles were over rated. Their celebrity was overstated but their musical creativeness is so under rated. Especially Harrisons guitar methods. I like both but Beatles were head and shoulders above RS
Stones for me. Just saw them last month with Sparky. They might now be 70 but Wow! Never keen on the Beatles collectively but no doubting Lennon and Harrison talent as solo artists. McArtney solo and with wings was average. And Ringo was......well just Ringo.
The Beatles and Stones were influenced by Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry .Sinatra was more a singing and showman legend than a music influence in respect of song writing . Bowie was out on his own as was Elvis
Tricky one. I probably listen to the Beatles slightly more so they would just about edge it but there is a rawness that the stones have always had that is phenomenal
