Don't know about the Clash, but my favourite Jam song is Funeral Pyre.

It's a very tense sounding track, full of frustration and angst and I like the lyrics:

I feel so old when I feel so young/I just can't grow up to the meet the demands.

Death or Glory hasn't been mentioned yet, fab song.

Tbh I think all of The Clash's work is top stuff along with the solo work of Mick Jones and Joe Strummer. Can't wait for September's release of Joe Strummer's rarities 001 album

Neither my cuppa tea but train in vain is in the top 10 all time songs and his cover of redemption song is wonderful.

Must have been good to have spoken to him, was this during or after his The Clash days?

Just before he died. Promo tour for second album. Was funny, we chatted about humous and Palestine the whole time. We'd been there at the same time a few times. Seemed a lovely bloke.

Glad he seemed down to earth and wasn't aloof like some rockstars get like. Thanks for sharing that memory as it's a good one to have
