We went there last year didn't we? What's in Budapest that requires us to go all the way there? Or have we got a 20% discount for a repeat booking.

Fantastic city. Bulls blood wine, spot of goulash, bullet holes in buildings and a beautiful lit up bridge at night... all for getting a squad away from the usual setting where they are together every day and every night. Will help the new coach get to know his players and see more aspects of their characters.

Hopefully this year we have some players to go on it!

My dentist is in Budapest so visit every year. Fantastic friendly city with good bars, restaurants etc. Not very expensive either which is an added attraction.

I will always remember it for the night I spent there dressed as Daffyd (The only gay in the village) while handcuffed to a dwarf. Not a pretty site.

Thankfully it didn't impact on their tourism stats too much ;-)

Completely baffled as to why we would return to the same place as last season to do our fitness training when last season it generated the most unfit football team in many a year

Yes, the location of the training camp was the main reason for that. o_O

The whole idea of it is that it is intensive training to improve fitness levels. It simply didn't do that, try were an embarrassment last season so logically it makes no sense to repeat the same pre season fitness training camp

It's the same location but different staff I think is the point being made above. Chances are we'll use the facilities at Ferencvaros which is where the national team play and train (I think) and what they have available is really good. It's also a team bonding exercise to live in one another's pockets for x amount of time. Also gives the management the ability to check behaviours, punctuality and professionalism. Although if you listen to Under the Cosh with Jon Parkin those latter points are slightly moot!

I'm all for it. And Budapest is amazing.

I agree, cant see stendel or his team choosing it again when it blatantly didnt work last season so it must have been already booked in. This must be another thing the coach doesnt have much input in then.
