We looked considerably more ineffective with Rashford playing on Wednesday. Sterling's pace and movement are terrifying for defenders.

I really don’t understand the hate sterling gets. He’s one of our best players albeit inconsistent.

He’s like the Potts of the England team or something

Because we look a better team when he plays in my opinion.

To say he’s playing ***** is just unbelievable .yes he’s been unlucky in front of goal but he’s put every defence through they’re paces

No point pulling the defence all over the place if the end product is nothing- set very little up and finishing has also been poor. Rashford put a cross in with his first touch on the ball - far more that Sterling had set up

You do seem to have a Apis mellifera mellifera under your bonnet about this don't you. Ran Croatia ragged at the back and we never looked like scoring after he went off but you won't listen to others. I suggest, instead of watching the football, you go sit in the garden and watch the little insects flying around the garden seemingly for no reason, where as reality we'd be much worse off without them ;)

He doesn't play '*****' so I don't see your point. He misses chances but his all round game is pretty good and as I said we look a better team with him in it.

Glad to see I'm not alone in thinking he has been one of our better players.

I really don't get what you hope to achieve from making repeated threads about this?

Surely it's clear that you aren't going to change your opinion nor are others so what's the point?

    Very true.
It doesn’t matter if that player is considered best player in the world for his club - he should not play for his country if he can’t handle it.
Jury still out for Sterling, Alli and Lingard.

The point of him playing in this team and formation is that he pulls the defence allover which is then supposed to create chances for Kane, Linguard and Alli. Problem was he kept finding himself isolated cos the others never supported quick enough.

He was our best player in the semi, only one that caused the Croat’s any problems

Outside of the Sweden game where are all these chances Sterling is missing?

We haven’t created chances from open play. Virtually everything comes from set pieces. We haven’t got any creative midfielders in the squad & that’s the problem. Henderson is great at protecting the back 4 & playing it simple & Alli & Lingard are more players who want to be finishing chances they aren’t players who play defence splitting passes & that’s the issue.

I think Southgate sees the same problem & is trying Loftus-Cheek & Delph behind Kane & Sterling to see if they can create anything.

Let’s hope Wilshere & Barkley come good or another creative midfielder emerges.
