I would probably say a bit of both. Much better than we usually are, or at least have been for the last few tournaments. But are we semi final level? No. That side of the draw helped that. However, I do think there’s potential wit these players. Next couple of tournaments could be as interesting as this one.

We had a relatively easy ride, but you still have to beat what's in front of you and we did. The best four teams I saw in the tournament were the four that reached the semis. I think we were 4th best out of the four, deserving of our place in the semis, but no further. Belgium, on the other hand, will really feel as though they could have won this competition. We have, however, lost three games in this World Cup. In 1982 we won three, including beating semi-finalists France 3-1, and drew two games against hosts Spain and finalists West Germany, scored six goals, only conceded 1 and still didn't make it through. That still rankles.
