Win League One: 8/1 Promotion: 7/2 Relegation: 20/1 That is a tempting price for the drop, given our lack of quality and activity in the transfer market. Burton are a standout 28/1 to be Champions and 8/1 for promotion with Skynobet.
Lack of quality in the championship, league 1 is a completely different kettle of fish. I think we’ll be in and around the playoffs.
Burton went down the same day as us and lost to a non league team last night. I don't see them as a great bet but we could go down. What's your thinking.
Think you’re right. But we should be close enough. We were better than them last year and they are shedding their better players. It will boil down to who signs one or two class acts to compliment what they already have. Not sure our owners want to spend any money despite making a profit and retaining interest in a number of players this summer. Peterborough are my outside bet. They are losing three of their best players but have signed a bunch of potentially very good players for this league.
Price seems about right for promotion. Sunderland will win with us Second. I’d fancy Burton for play offs.
Sorry don't agree.. I think we already have the "class acts" here.. for this league anyway. And as long as we keep em. Who in this league will have a better front 2 than Moore and Bradshaw.. our centre-mid ooozzers class with Mowatt Moncur and McGeehan... if those 3 don't run the middle of the park in L1... they ought to pack it in. Then you have Cavare, McCarthy and Lindsey..all should be top players. Pinnock and Fryers I don't think we lack the class.. what we do lack is a couple of muck and bullets no nonsense, defensive minded mid-fielders..Who are up for the fight of L1.. For me we have the class, but will we be up for a 46 game season in L1 being of the "big" clubs everyone wants to beat... if not kick.. Its not called the ale house league for nowt.. If we have an Achilles heel, it may be we have too many "class acts" and not enough scrappers..
Well given that Burton are off two years in the Championship and have battled well to stay up (with some eyebrow-raising results last season), can they really be 2.5 times the price we are to win the league or be promoted? Surely the bookies have that one wrong?
Really? Have you seen their transfer activity so far? They have a large number of high earners to get off their books before they have any chance of making any good standard signings. Kone Djilibodji N'dong Oviedo Cattermole Khazri Plus Mcgeady Mathews and Mcmanaman will all be on a decent wedge also.
Teams will **** themselves in their stadium. They go on a run, get their crowd back behind them and they will be frightening in League 1. This is a way bigger team than when Man City, Southampton were down there.
