So the only goal by Messi in the tournament deemed better than Trippier's free kick that wasn't even listed.

And the Messi goal was just a standard take down and strike that happens in every league every week around the world.

He took it darn to his right which took the defender out of the equation so he could get the shot off. Good goal, but dunt know if it were the best or not.

Exactly. But his name is Messi.

And was Trippier's free kick up there with Ronaldo's?

I must have spent too long watching Barnsley if that is a standard take down and goal.

Not what you would class as goal.of the tournament worthy when Trippier's goal.wasnt even an option.

Messi's goal was sublime, the way he took it down into his stride and finished. Trippier a was decent but nothing out of the ordinary

I didn't watch the goal of the tournament thing and can't remember how Messi scored his but I didn't think trippiers was all that special. Just a standard freekick that you see a few times a week on the football league show or whatever its called. It was bigger up because of its importance but I don't think the actual goal was owt special.

The fact I don't remember it (I remember him scoring but not how) suggests you're right

Pavard for me. Just edged Nacho’s. Probably Di Maria or Quaresma in third.

Brilliant touch & finish by Messi, nothing simple about that, very few players capable of the perfect weight of them first touches & then to finish like that on what’s supposed to be his weaker foot was class, 5th best for me.

Thought the goalkeeping was poor on Kroos’ effort.

Trippier’s was decent enough but wasn’t even the best English goal, Lingard’s against Panama was better for me.
